The dealer replaced them? & wow, I can’t believe they would take more than on trip to acknowledge the problem.

What do you think causes it? Is it failure on parts or just normal wear and tear?

They replaced after the 2nd trip. One of the mounts was completely shot and causing metal grinding. I'm at 16,000 miles now and havent had any other issues from them.

Common theory I’ve read here is that the body is not centered over the frame mount so there’s a shearing type pressure on the mount. Rubber wears out and then it’s metal on metal. That’s the most I know. Toyota acted like I was crazy until they road tested with me. Truck was stock when I alerted them. By the time it came back I had lifted, so you know where that conversation went. Even with the history they played that card. I do have an appt with my new dealer for the 60k (aka I’m dropping a nut there) and the guy I usually work with there is willing to let me show him what’s what. To be fair, he wheels the shit out of his Taco and he’s all but said he knows what’s going on… so I got that going for me.

I have my 10k service Monday morning, I wanted to bring it up to them before anything. So that they don’t say I’m the one who caused it etc

So. If they only last 7k miles, have you considered maybe switching over to urethane vs rubber? Energy suspension makes some nice ones that are durable.

Haven't had any more issues. If they fail again out of warranty, I'll go with the Ernergy ones.

Lower shock mount bearings could be the culprit

So I ended up taking it to the dealer for routine maintenance. I brought up the squeak, they were able to recreate the noise. I picked it up and they said they took everything apart, couldn’t find anything. They ended up greasing it up and the squeak has been gone. I’ll see how long it lasts for but for the time being, no squeak.

What did they take apart? I'm 99% sure that's you body mounts making that noise. Same exact as mine made. I insisted the dealer check them on the 2nd trip back. I can text you video of the noise mine was making if you want to pm me your #.

I have a 2023 tacoma off road with 800 miles on it and I have not been happy with it at all, I have suspension squeaks on the right side of the truck, I will take it to the dealer, the one the was dishonest when I bought the truck, to be told there is nothing wrong I am sure. I regret daily buying this thing, it does nothing as well as my 06 chevy and cost me a fortune (a fortune to me anyway)

If anyone cares I will post what I find, this many problems with truck with 800 miles is sad....So much for Toyota quality.....

I thought I was the only one! It's so annoying when I go over a speed bump, it's a loud clunk/bang! What's causing the noise & how do we fix it?

Adding another one to the list of body mounts replaced under warranty. First noticed it about 10k miles, they just tightened the body mounts and the noise went away. It started again a couple weeks ago so I had them look at it for my 20k service. They replaced the body mounts and centered the body. Seems like there is some kind of assembly issue at the plant causing premature wear. I would have thought Toyota would have come up with a countermeasure by now.

Was there or is there going to be a recall for this and have them fix it? So far they have done to recalls on my truck which is the third brake light seal and the fuel injector pump.
