    What are you looking for/hope to get out of a tune? There are things it can do, and things it can't do.

    Things that are possible are improving the engine output across the entire rev range, drastically improving the throttle mapping to provide immediate and direct actuation of the throttle in relation to the pedal, Improved/optimized shift scheduling that matches the output characteristic of the engine/throttle, reduction or removal of the rev-hang in manual transmission vehicles, often times slightly better fuel economy due to Toyota's overly rich fuel maps under high load/rpm.

    As for output, here's what you can expect: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2nd-gen-dyno-testing-by-overland-tailor-tuning-ott.759616/

    Can anyone refer me back to what posts discuss turning off rear cat monitoring? Looking at installing long tube headers, and URD no longer sells the O2 sims. I know it was in here somewhere…

    Also, question: I got my truck tuned using someone else’s HPTuner, and just bought the 4 credits to unlock my ECU. I’m gonna buy my own hardware now that I have more vehicles to tune and want to make changes to my truck’s tune. Do I have to buy the credits over again for my truck, or how does that work??

    What good is this if you have to pass visual inspection in addition to OBDII checks? Like in CA? Neither the tuning nor the bypass kit will pass smog in those cases. And where smog checks are of no concern, why spend $400 on the bypass kit when HPTuners costs the same (before credits, admittedly) and does SO MUCH MORE for the truck!?

    When changing any of the following, you'll need to relicense:

    Vehicle VIN
    MPVI/RTD Serial Number
    Calibration ID Number

    I’d really like a HPtune, and to ditch the secondary air injection. But after reading every single page of this thread, I lost my confidence to DIY this…somewhere around page 300.

    I’d like to ditch my ucon and switch to hp but don’t know of anyone to tune it. I’m forced induction. Supercharged 16psi. 6mt. Anyone any good at tuning the Toyota. I’ve had my ls swaps tuned with hp but Toyota is another beast.

    Is there anyone south of Denver? I have a 2005 4.0 6spd, nothing wild under the hood. Located in SE NM.

    I can tune your '07 4Runner, just on a different software platform.

    @JustDSM, what mods would you suggest before I get a tune? I'm pretty much stock. Thank you for John's number.

    @JustDSM i have a 2014 with supercharger, already tuned..

    i need to flash it to stock so i can smog it here in SoCal, then obviously slap a tune back on it afterward. know anyone in my area or know a way to do this remotely or by mail that doesn't entirely suck? or could a canned tune be thrown on there myself after the fact if i grab whats needed?

    the problem is, i kinda wanna just get a whole new/fresh tune for various reasons, though that may not be absolutely necessary.
