Anywhere between the 2 marks is fine, at any time or temperature. Don't overthink it, toyota engines aren't known for being picky

I have not had any issues yet when checking my oil. I pull the dip stick out, wipe it clean and reinsert it. When I pull it back out, I read the back side of the dip stick(towards the rear of the truck) and so far never had any problem reading the stick. There is no oil streaking on that side. A least for me.

Because during cold checking all your oil is in the oil pan. You want it circulated up on top to get a correct reading

You guys are taking it to levels of specificity that the engineers never deemed necessary.

Checking it stone cold vs warm after shutoff? We're talking about differences of less than 1/8 quart.

The space between the 2 marks is called the safe zone for a reason

I read somewhere to get a fine sandpaper and scuff up the dip stick. I guess the oil sticks to it better and makes it easier to read. ‍♂️

Yep, I couldn't even see the oil on the stick until I did this.

This. Think about how "professionals" do it. i.e. people paid by the hour. Bulk oil comes in from a hose with a counter on the nozzle. The mechanic starts the engine, let it run for a couple of minutes to check for leaks, shuts it off, then check the dipstick. Millions of Toyotas serviced this way each year.
