Every time my S/C tensioner has snapped, it has avoided damage elsewhere as it just falls down on top of my skidplate. The engine tensioner bolt snapped during replacement.

and I just realized that's the idler stud.. not the tensioner.. my bad.

So, you need the stud itself.. and to remove said broken stud.. definitely different scenario. but.. I do have that new set of studs from SCOL sitting in the garage I can send you.

I called them to get that part number originally as it wasn't in their website and that's where Magnuson referred me for parts.

Their website is in need of a serious overhaul, and has for some years now. But their email and phone support is really good

I found the company which actually manufactures these studs when I broke mine. I got a hold of them and they said that the only way they sell is in bulk. I wrote them off and stuck to SCOL. Outside of them, there really is no one else.

This stud snapping still gives me nightmares. I feel as though it’s a ticking bomb that has no rhyme or reason.
Wait till the day mine goes out !

That's right. You can't have your cake AND eat it too!

(Unless you get a 9 bolt Ford rear end. From what I hear, those things are grenade proof)

My friend from Project Keep On Dreaming did a walk around the ol girl. Check out his IG as well. He built up a 14 person shuttle van to explore the US.

You have some very special mods on your FJ. How’s the read door handling the 118 lb tire? I dream of modding my GX to have 35s some day. For now 32s and spare on the door (32s don’t fit underneath!).

You're GX is money (love it). The rear door is holding up great. Swings open a bit slow but no groans. I've spent time hacking and drilling the stock tire carrier to keep the spare as close to the exterior door skin. I've tried using aftermarket extension carriers but they lacked proper bracing or the extension made it a floppy anchor on the back end.

I just received a set of motor mounts from Martec. Any tips for installing them?

I'm guessing I can support the engine on the oil pan, lift it 1/4", slide the old mounts and upper mounting bracket out, attach new mount to upper bracket, slide back in.

    Did I miss anything?

Is the oil pan strong enough to support the engine, or should I use the rail?

The lower oil pan is not strong enough. I dented my trying that.

I was successful but also loosened the trans mount and jacked it up a bit with my transmission jack. Additionally, I used a piece of wood that covered the oil pan as much as possible to distribute the load. In hindsight a chunk of metal of the right size would have been better. Still a gamble though...

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've checked in ... just out here enjoying my 2.7 pulley trouble-free.
I'm (finally) getting serious about upgrading my fuel pump and have a couple questions.
    1. Where's the good how-to writeup? For those of you who have done it yourself, should I drop the tank or remove the bed? Truck is pretty rust-free.
    2. Does anyone run the URD fuel filter relocation? Worth doing while I'm in there?

I dropped the tank. wasnt too bad. getting to the clips up on top of the tank is the hardest part. I also relocated the filter. ziptied it underneath the truck, tucked up along the frame.
