Yea its in the plans down the road, would like to find an FIC6 or 8 with patch harness ideally but I know the haltechs are out there more readily available but damn are they expensive!

I guess some folks can dial in a FIC to work for them, I had no luck getting more usable results on a 3rz truck and it had the bonus of causing severe timing advance during starts and trying to send the piston down the wrong way. I'd just run low boost with an FMU or something similar and save up for the Haltech.

Sounds like what I've been thinking too. I'm not convinced we'd need a check valve for the brake booster either, especially at low boost. Maybe its a nice safety net or just an extra fail point in the system idk

I'm not familiar with the split second enricher but i'd like to get the Haltech Elite 1500 sooner than later, hopefully that will be the second phase.

You'd want a 2500 or a used 2000 if you can find one. The 1500 isn't setup for running a V6 in sequential injection. Or a 750, those are good too :)

This kid had a pretty simple walkthrough set up off boost.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xu_R82fOeqQ

But it can be set up to take voltage input as well.
    Module: https://splitsec.com/product/lsc1-001-universal-fuel-enrichment-module
    Datasheets: https://splitsec.com/wp-content/uploads/datasheets/Enricher_ds.pdf and https://splitsec.com/wp-content/uploads/technotes/TN1_Achieving_Fuel_Enrichment_in_Closed_Loop.pdf

What's the quick version pros/cons between 750 and 2500 that pushed you to 2500 for our trucks?

quick glance at the comparison sheet looks mostly to be number of inputs/outputs available but a NO under Knock Control on the 750 stood out to me, would that mean we would still likely have knock sensor issues these engines have with boost potentially?

I went with a 750, cause I've tuned every other vehicles I've had a computer on without a knock sensor. I have knock earmuffs and I tune conservatively. Haltech stopped making the 2000 which was perfect for a 5vz and now they only make the 2500 which has knock control and enough injection outputs for a V6. The 1500 would be perfect if it had two more injector outputs

I was expecting to need at least the 1500 because of the auto trans. 2500 might be the ticket

You only need more than the 750 if you want knock control and if you want to wire the haltech to control the trans, you can use a 750 with an auto though and it will use a piggyback harness and keep the stock computer in place to run the auto. Actually a lot of the 2000 and 2500 guys do that cause they don't want to wire up and then program the haltech for controlling the a340.

I was planning to leave the stock ECU for the transmission but want to be able to go completely stand alone if the ECU goes out

I'll have to step a little deeper into the rabbit hole :stirthepot:

Does the 750 work with drive by wire?
I also think I'd need to swap out the innovate aft/ boost guage for the Haltech multi guage if I remember correctly

U don't need to swap out the gauge if you don't want to. I run mine separately from the haltech, just doesn't show afr since I didn't wanna weld in a 2nd o2 bung

The Toyota DBW can be controlled with a 2500 but the 750 cannot, most guys leave the stock computer to deal with it or you can just convert to a cable TB too.

I didn't think about the OEM ECU still running the Throttle. I've heard of converting to cable and like the idea but don't know anything about going about it. The 750 basically runns $1000 cheaper but I'm not sure if I'd trust my lack of knowledge to not have knock detection

It's like $50 off right now from Driftmotion too I think. Not that that's a huge amt considering the total cost. But yeah. Honestly I plan to sell my 750 and WB1 in a year for a Nexus R3. In which case I'd give anyone on the forum a good deal on it.

Knock detection is only as good as it's dialed in which also takes some skills. The good part is you can hire tuners to tune it out for you.

Always good to get out, I am looking forward to more of it this year. Any more Turbo prep progress?

I have all my parts either on hand or on deliver outside of exhaust and muffler, but the next few weeks for me are full of other priorities so I am looking at May to start on my prep stuff (Shift Kit, fuel filter, mounting and plumbing intercooler, auxiliary fuse block). Still on track for now to get Turbo going in June, but man I am chomping at the bit with all these parts stacking up in the garage haha

I haven't done anything, was hoping to get after the timing belt and water pump last weekend but it just didn't happen.

I need to order a few things still
