Hey guys. I tried to do an update on my enTune nonJBL head unit on my 2017 last night. I plugged my flash drive into the only USB port I know of on the dash and the USB input option stayed greyed out. Does the drive need to be formatted a certain way? All that was on it was the update files from Toyota. My radio shows I’m a good bit behind on versions too.
    Thanks for any suggestions!

I’m sure I have one kicking around in a drawer somewhere. It’s probably faster to order a new pack lol.

That's also the only way you can play music files.

I’ve only streamed or played CDs in my truck. This summer I may be driving through Canada with limited cellular service so I’ll need one or 2 then…

if your flash drive is bigger than 8GB, i am pretty sure if you reformat the flash drive to no more than 8GB you will be fine. make sure you use FAT32.
you don't have to get a physically smaller stick.
When you are done you can reformat it to whatever you like (like the full stick size) for general use again.

EDIT: relying on thread's 8GB being the max size. i don't remember the number but do remember having to deal with it when i updated.

EDIT2: i just searched and see people claiming 32GB works. 8GB could be misinformation...dunno.

EDIT3: lol coming back to me now. i believe i was usig a 64GB stick but it was NTFS so i had to reformat to FAT32 but i was using a simple windows tool.
Windows limits FAT32 partitions to 32GB.

    EDIT4: no more edits.

Reformatted the drive to Fat32 and the truck recognized it. At first it wouldn’t allow me to run the update saying the drive was in use. Drove to work, connected to Bluetooth and the update then went through.

All that for no differences lol. To be fair, I’m not sure I expected anything.

We actually have pretty good AM radio signals between igloos up here. Sometimes it's just How to field dress a polar bear, but we play stompin Tom Connors and Celine Dion too!!
