BartStar was at it again today. He told someone they shouldn't get a sunroof unless they also get airbags installed in the roof, becuase if you flip the truck you will fly out of the sunroof to your death.

He has avoided the banhammer so far. I think the mods are entertained so much by all of us giving him shit that they keep him around.

Awesome, I'm looking to make a lot of $$ in the future. My dad's a mechanical engineer, I love reading and going through all of his past achievements. :D

That's why I love this major, there such a variety of jobs in mechanical engineering. It was hard enough to decide whether I wanted to be either a civil or mechanical engineer.

Do the mech engineers that you work with focus in the oil and gas industry?

I remember being there. Are you planning on working with your dad? I think that would be really cool!! My brother has a civil degree and I hope to work with him some day.

I couldn't work in his division if I wanted, it would end up with him being my boss. Never a good thing when it comes to peer reviews.. He said I could go to China or India as a intern though. :D

I thought dealing with petroleum and such would mostly involve chemical engineers.. Do the mechanical engineers there work on CAD programs?

No we need mechanical engineers much more than chemical. Chemical would be more on the refining side. I work on the upstream side.

We need people that will be able to figure out how to drill the wells the most efficiently, fracture the formations efficiently, and to plan our pipeline and facilities infrastructure and materials, etc.

I'm off to bed. PM me if you want more info....

Been wanting to get a pistol for the center console of my truck, my budget is around $400.....I've had folks suggest a Ruger LCP, Springfield XD, and a used glock....any comments/suggestions folks?

Note: I would also be using this to take my concealed carry class, and occasionally at the range....so I'm not looking for something micro-sized, but nothing big either, as I would like to keep it in the center console and carry it occasionally.

Those other choices you mentioned are out of your price range. I have a Walther PK380...its the full size but still small. enough for a comfortable ccw. I paid $390 for it. Great shooting gun!
