Hmmm good to know. The interesting part is I have a CS144 as well and the damn thing has been doing it since I installed it. Maybe it was just a bad model? But I also have been running it since early 2017? I think. I even almost missed a chance to run Cliffhanger in Moab with @Reh5108 and @Squeaky Penguin thanks to that belt squeal. It literally only does it when I am in dusty or muddy conditions.

    Did that one get finished?

What have you ran before in it? It's hard to say if I'll be able to get the truck into the 14s or not. That's another 1.6 seconds. My truck will always be slow lol

Installed a backup camera for my small trailer.

6'4" and running wires under the dash = no fun! But, if you remove the seat. It's not that bad.

Installing a third brake light today for the camper shell. Is there an adapter I should use for this or should I just cut that off and splice into the brakes light wires? Not very good at wiring stuff.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I just spliced the one on my rack into the drivers side brake light, those LED strips hardly take any power.

Yeah, that's where my camper shell brake light is spliced. Seems to be common.

Definitely use a connector. If you ever need to remove the shell, you'll just disconnect inside the shell and be done with it. Keep it simple.

    Thread to ID wiring -
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/camper-third-brake-light-wiring-by-a-noob.181629/

Use these two as an example for connectors - you don't need to use a toyota connector but it should give you enough of an idea to get the job done. The connector in your pic can easily be picked up at any auto parts store.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

That's the way mine started. It was mainly in the morning leaving camp. It would squeal something fierce. Then it would shut up for the rest of the day. Then it would do it in the morning when I was leaving the house. I figured it was because there was still dirt and shit in there from the wheeling.

But then my stereo would shut off and come back on. I noticed when the stereo would shut off my Volts were showing 16-17V+ (stereo was shutting off from an internal surge protector). When I replaced the alt... all my problems disappeared. Well... all THOSE problems did anyway. lol

    Such a good day!

I've been itching to run it again with the truck in it's current form. Just rode my bike there and was eying that right line out of the creek. I think it's 2nd only to Pritchett now that I've run most all the trails out there.

Actually haven't experienced any bumpsteer. But the steering is so tight that you really have to pay attention when driving.

If you are not having voltage or bearing issues getting the correct pulley offset and a fresh belt might do the trick. I am not aware of any of the numerous configurations/applications of the CS144 that come with the correct offset pulley. They are close and "look" like they line up but they don't.

I was mostly concerned with the bumpsteer being introduced via the offset of the heim joints. I previously looked into doing it with OEM lbj, but the new TC solution might eliminate those concerns since they claim to improve steering geo and reduce bumpsteer.
I do have a bit with my Solo arms and stock steering as is.

Your steering hasn't loosened up at all since install? how many miles have you put on them so far?

you could get a piece cut and use some windshield gasket. Cut a few holes and use bolts to hold it all together. Or better yet swing some doors.

Just installed a new OEM rack last weekend. Does anyone know how many turns the steering wheel has from lock to lock? I'm wondering if the ragjoint got mis installed on the splines cause one side has fewer rotations than the other

variety of factors Im sure. But the more direct the steering is the more you can't be lazy down the highway. Small movements can send you out of your lane. I found this to be true even when I did the slip joint tac weld mod. You really couldn't be lazy with the steering after that.
