    Totally agree. Was ready to take advantage of the dealer's five day no questions asked return policy and go back to a Tundra. Read up on OTT, risked the money and couldn't be happier with it now. Instant pedal response, no more gear hunting and when I punch the ECT it runs like a scared rabbit. (Rarely have to do that though it runs so well.) Should have come that way from the factory. Best money I've spent on it to date. :thumbsup: More here:

    How often do you feel you are using it? I am thinking about getting one. I don't want to add it just to add it.

    Question should be how often YOU think YOU need it. It seems helpful to me at times, but I usually am not climbing into the bed of my truck much.

    I have one, and I do occasionally use it, though I wouldn't say I NEED it for the height of my truck.

    Mostly its for my kids - keeps them from Spider-manning up the side of the truck.

    Look on FB. These are offered by South Eaater Toyota, they are Aluminum and only weigh 17 lbs each. I found these on FB for $250 that came off a 2023. They work very well but don't hang down as far as Predator steps.

    I think it's neat, but not sure how much I'd use it either. I've resisted the urge to purchase and have had my truck nearly 4 months and haven't felt like I have needed it. FYI, I'm 5'7" and my truck is 2" higher than stock.

    Having said that, I do think it's an innovative part that would useful at times..... I just don't plan to add it.

    I use my bed step FREQUENTLY!!!!! Every time I get in or out of the bed I use it. Just bought my 25 year old son one for his Ford Ranger (Bestop brand). He has a bad knee and hip. I helped him move twice in the last month, probably 6 or 7 loads in my truck. Also use it when going to camp every time.

    PS: I am 66 years old, 5 back surgeries, knees, hips, and ankles gradually 'falling apart' too!!!

    I actually have a canopy so I won't be using it in a conventional sense. I do however have a rooftop tent so it may make sense for me. I usually step on my rear tire, but this step could be useful. Amazon has one that fits for $100 or so. I'll have to go through the motions and confirm if the placement works.

    You mind sharing a pic of that, not a fan of this exact scenario and was trying to think of a solution before next winter?

    @RIX TUX

    Well, I guess they can be cheap add-ons then? lol

    Tailgate Lock was about $145 and the Bed Lights $45.

    Bed Mat was $85.

    All-in-all, I'm happy to have done these OEM upgrades.

    Here's another photo. The step is about 5" below the door. The steps that are tucked up really high are 3" or less. The Predator steps are just over 6" from the bottom of the door. The height makes a significant difference. Predator steps work the best but these steps that I have pictured are a nice compromise IMO. The Nfab steps are very functional too and hang down similar to the Predator.
