Thats B.S. I had it done at the dealer for under $200.00 Or you can do it yourself a lot cheaper. I have a 2015 DCLB V6. Very easy to change spark plugs.

Dealer quoted me $339 for my V6 Tacoma. I agreed on the price. An hour later the dealer calls me and says the tech can't do the job for that price. The tech said I was quoted for a 4 cylinder not 6. I asked what the new price would be and he said $750, I laughed and said no f**king way. I asked them how are they doubling the price adding two more cylinders. Of course he didn't answer the question. What pissed me off the most is I have had every service in the service manual done at this Toyota dealer. Let's just say I won't be going back what a joke.

Definitely a valid point, I would sure hope they were doing alot more than spark plugs at that price even with the high labor rates that some places have.

When I had my taco I could change all 6 plugs in less the 30 mins, it's stupid easy. Who the hell goes to the dealer to change plugs? I only go to stealerships to buy a new vehicle, for actual work on the truck I do it my self or go to a mom and pop place, dealers are a rip a off.

Pretty sure my response would've been "Intake?... The plugs are on the exhaust side of the head, you moron!!" Then walk out, post a review on their website, and be done with it. Most definitely not make a post designed to trigger my fellow Tacomian's.

Ummm: So: let's see: a cool $411 for two more spark plugs added to essentially same exact job unless the calculator app on my phone is sketchy: $205.50 each.

I'm thinking they must be Rolls-Royce or Lockheed-Martin F-35 Lightning specials or maybe whatever they put in the Bugattii Veyron? Even Enzo wouldn't charge that much for a plug. (well maybe)

If it is something you do day in and day out you learn to do it in your sleep. For perspective back in the day when I was a Ford Tech a short block replacement in a Taurus under warranty paid about 9 hours. And yes it was done in that time by just one tech.

You had to buy a new torque wrench to change your plugs? Who uses a torque wrench for plugs?

Me. This guy, who torques almost nothing to spec, doesn't mess around when it comes to torquing plugs and lugs to spec.

This is not a transverse v6, or a v8 in an old van. Our v6 is fairly easy to change spark plugs. 30min labor for an experienced mechanic with small hands. Maybe even faster. I do have to remove the manifold to reach the rear driver spark plug, but ifmy wife is around, she can reach it without removing anything except the plastic engine cover.

Run. Run silent, run deep, but run.

Pay somebody to show you how to do it, learn, then do it yourself. Not rocket science.

My pitchfork is out already, we need to kill the beast!
I torque plugs as well, I don’t torque much, but I like knowing it’s good.

I removed a set from a exactly on time replacement last week that I did and they still had a fair amount of exhaust bypass. Not my fault at least lol
