I've been debating what kind of muffler I should put on my new 4 banger for a while. I have an 03 4 door tacoma (2.7 l) So far I'm deciding between the Glass pack Cherry bomb or the Flow master 40 series (not sure which model to get) Someone want to give me some pointers this is my first 4 banger.

You might be kinda ricey with any muffler on the 2.7

4 banger if you do the exhaust you should do a header as well. Standing or driving in my truck you would swear it was a 6cyl by the sound.

Any specific headers or a specific header with a specific muffler.

i had a flowmaster 40 and it did sound good but they do NOT hold up well to rust and the welds are shit. Put a magnaflow on a couple months ago and it is a huge improvement performance and sound wise. Much less ricey and deeper, plus it lowers your RPMs about 500 or so at idle so it def saves gas, prob gained 1mpg. Although these gains could have just brought the truck back to stock since the flowmaster was really restrictive haha idk, u get what u pay for...hope that helped

Would love to put on the DT header this summer, as i have seen dynos with significant gains, but i need to replace my driveshaft and my 5100's are stiff as shit now and i'm gonna put on an all OME setup on the front so that will hurt the wallet haha

I probably won't put an exhaust system up there for a while since I'm still in school (at the moment and am on a moderately tight budget. Also which magnaflow model did you put on yours?

Mine is a 2 1/4" in and out offset 4x9x14 Magnaflow. Idk the part number but it fits good, shorter the louder

Flowmaster all the way dog. I have the 40 series delta flow muffler and I love it. I also have a 2.5" cat back so that helps the sound. Best mod I've done to my truck
