    Hello

My dumbass cracked my driver side sideview mirror glass backing out of my garage.
I pull the glass off and it’s connected by two wires with shrink tube for the heating glass, it’s on there quite tight.
Does anyone know if it just pull off? Or how do I remove it to replace the glass.I didn’t want to do more damage pulling too hard

    Thanks

I am thinking the new glass comes with new wires. Did you look up the part yet? If it does, you would be doing new shrink tube. Cut the old with a razor blade to unwrap disconnect and your good to go

I couldn’t find actual picture of the new glass, only drawings so wanted to double check here before I mess anything more up. Thanks for the suggestion

well - there you go. They don’t come with new wires. How are the wires connected to the mirror then? Just curious for when I run into this.

They are just spade connectors,,,female side is on the wire,, the blade (male) side is bonded to the mirror.

Just grip the heat shrink as close to the mirror as you can a pull straight out.

Good to know all this. I’m about to install SUMA performance mirrors.

OP, so with the mirror you just pulled it hard and it came off?

Just pull them off. Needle nose pliers will help. I did this when I installed my SUMA mirrors last year.

Did you get the mirrors with the turn signals? If so, where did you connect the wires?

Yes, I got the defrost and turn signal.
The defrost wires connected directly to the mirror.
The turn signal had two wires with splice taps to tap into the existing turn signal for function and power. There are only two wires for the turn signal so easy to choose one. If you hook them up and it doesn’t work just flip the wires and you’re good to go.
There are videos on the website and some in YouTube. It also came with instructions.

Thanx for the reply, the black and white were straight forward. I just don’t know when to splice them to, I’ll continue to check around online.

Trying to get these wires off myself and I’ve tried wiggling, needle nose pliers, pushing up with a mini flat head and pulling pretty aggressively. It won’t give and afraid if I go any harder I’m going to rip the board off.. I’ve not experienced anything like it.
