    Hey y'all,
Might have been asked before, but what causes the ignition coil to go bad? I threw a P0352 code one day, changed plugs and coils, it threw the code a week later, changed spark plugs, moved coils around, and now it's throwing the same AGAIN... What could be causing this?
Thanks in advance for any help!!

So you changed the coils with new coils, then the new coil on cyl #2 threw the same code.
And then you swapped the coil, and the same code returned?

If so, I’d be looking at the wiring for the IGF circuit on cyl #2.

That is correct . I changed coils around again today, put dielectric grease on everything. Still throwing code... Would you happen to have a diagram for the IGF circuit. Please and thanks for response

Have you ever changed the valve cover and spark plug tube gaskets?

    Lots of good info here.
This is one of the threads that lead Dm93 to do a “How to” diag.

I won’t be able to get you a 2012 diagram until later today.
I’m not sure 2012 is any different than the rest.
The link above to the Diagnosis “How to” by @Dm93 will have all you need.

    Is this a 2.7 or 4.0 truck?

The link above is for a 4.0.
If it’s a 2.7 give me a little bit, I will see what I can find.

Pop the number 4 coil off (because it’s the easiest to get to) and look down the tube; there should be little to zero engine oil down there. If it’s wet, the tube seals are toast and allowing engine oil to short out the ignition. You’ve got this. Good luck!

    P0352 is for coil #2;)
I’d assume he would have noticed oil when swapping the coils twice now?

Srry I've been busy all day, anyway here's the diagrams.

OP does the code set instantly or is it random?
@TnShooter has you on the right track, if it's random I'd suspect a wiring problem. Have you done a visual inspection of the wiring?

P0353. Cylinder 3 now. Changed all the parts from last codes, checked wiring, added dielectric grease to all the coils and spark plug boots. Started on 4 went to 2 now to 3....ugh

What kind of replacement coils are you using, hopefully not Amazon/ebay specials.
Sounds like you either have some wires intermittently going open or shorting or your getting defective parts.
