Who hates chrome?

Am I the only one that ripped all my chrome decals off my truck the first hour after buying my truck ?

I have sen some buy those plastic clip / press on covers to go over top but MAN i hate shiny chrome !!

 

Badges and decals went within the first few weeks, over 7 1/2 years ago.

 

Couldn't stand it. Ordered the black overlays from Amazon. Still look good 2 years later. Not bad for like $28

 

Plasti-dip fixes that for $6 in like 15 mins.

 

Times change. Years ago Chrome was cool. Now one person on here blacked out their truck and we all follow. Including me. I even bought lug nut covers Pretty cool cheap way to do away with that chrome

 

Never had any I dunno but yea chrome is 1990s style

 

I’ll just wait for it to come back in style like my rugby shirt

 

Love chrome. I’m 65. Nothing better than black truck with chrome wheels, bumpers and grill. That’s still tasteful.

 

Die chrome haters! This is my other ride!

 

Yeah but is the chrome these days even real chrome? Mostly cheap plastics look-alike garbage.

I love Chrome...

 

Not a huge chrome fan, but I like chrome far more than I like cheap black plastic that everybody else seems to adore. My take on chrome is that things like the exhaust tip, mirror turn signals, and tailgate letters look good in chrome, small amounts of contrast that make the truck appearance “pop” a bit.

I removed the chrome bumper caps, V6 on tailgate, and the TACOMAs on the doors. But, the only solution for the bumper caps to me was body color, not black.

I left the dash and cupholders with chrome trim because I like the contrast there. The vents look like a work truck when people black them out.

 

Exactly what i did too, i haven't made my way inside the truck yet, but that will happen over time.

 

Same here, first thing I did was get rid of all the chrome decals and order black bumper caps. I can’t stand chrome.

 

Love my chrome, and smoother shifting tranny .

 

Are those full chrome headlights? They look LED? Aftermarket I assume?

 

Wish my truck had more chrome than just the rear fake chrome bumper ends. Too much black plastic on these trucks....makes them appear cheap. I'd like to see real chrome bumpers, and wheels.
