BAK handled an issue I had quickly and efficiently.

 

Well it’s tuned fine but like other tacos, mine has that slow response and these things give it an acceleration boost.

Okay...but something I actually did recently, relocated recovery boards to the side of the rack. Yeah, not Maxtrax but they'll do the trick in a sticky situation if needed.

Went down that road, but for a very short period of time after some more due diligence here and elsewhere. @chuam is talking an actual performance tune which is wholly different than a "tune up". Slow response, gear hunting and a number of other annoying habits our trucks have are basically erased with a performance tune. Two major players are KDMax and Overland Torque Tune (OTT).

Within a couple of days of buying our Taco I was ready to return it to the dealer for another Tundra. I did my research took a chance and ended up with a performance tune from the local OTT rep. Best money I've spent (and I've spent a bit) on our Taco. My truck literally came alive and began running like I'd expected it to from the factory. Night and day difference. It'll cost a little more than one of the little plugins like Pedal Commander, but there really is no comparison.

Before you spend your hard-earned money, do your homework. I'm betting you'll join a LOT of folks here by getting a performance tune. You'll wish you had done it sooner.

The earlier versions of ecu firmware were abysmal. I’d be very interested in the results of a blind test between a tune and a
firmware update, on pre ‘20 trucks, where everyone thought they got a tune

 

Added these predator steps today. Rough Country SR2 Adjustable steps. I like how they are adjustable. Also the steps are not very sharp/abrasive but appear to have enough texture. This is nice for the kids who often will put their shins/knees down getting in. Will see how they work when wet though.

The TC supports are by far the best stiffeners if you have any weight on the bed
