Couple of questions to clear up my confusion - and remember, St Paddy's Day was jast a couple days ago...

    1. Will the $95 include mesh? Or will it be $95 + $40 for the mesh?

    2. Where are you sourcing the mesh? My thoughts are if its widely available enough then I'd want to pick up extra to do a match to the lower opening and the triangles.

    3. In case you missed the hint - #2 is a marketing suggestion for you. ;)

    ORIGINAL POST EDITS IN RED:
Would you be interested in converting your stock grille to a satoshi???
Don't want to bother with epoxy, bondo, or sandpaper & spray paint to do this:
I have looked into the possibility of manufacturing a pre-built inner grille that would replace the stock one and have the satoshi surround already done.
This will be a vacuum formed molded piece that will be a direct replacement of your stock center inner grille.
I have a connection to a local manufacturing plant and they have agreed to create this satoshi insert.
I'll only do this if I can offer them for $100 or less...and I now know that the final pricing for the insert itself will be no more that $95
(several details still need to be worked out with materials, but I'm confident in making this statement)

I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a base model grill which is now on my truck:

As KPT so wisely figured out on his own, I am using my own Satoshi Grill as the Prototype for the build:

As you can see this insert WILL NOT have the Stock triangles built in. IF this is a game-changer for you then read no further.

I will separate the two sections tomorrow and deliver the Prototype to the manufacturer on Tuesday 3/22/11

:eek:MY TRUCK CURRENTLY LOOKS LIKE SH*T!!!

    ****ADDITIONAL INFORMATION****
    1. I am Planning on offering Mesh to complete the grilles. 3-4 different styles based on what I can get from a local supplier.(meeting on 3/21) Looking at pricing for this Mesh at around $30-$40 to complete the insert (based on my own build experience)

    2. I am planning on offering ON A LIMITED BASIS reduced depth inserts form those with lighting or URD TCAI fitment issues. (upcharge due to labor involved) $ ***TBD
    ***

    3.
I will begin a new Thread Titled " Satoshi Insert Group Buy". The first production run will be for 50 inserts.

    4. Actual Manufacturing process will take 7-14 days once the mold is created from the prototype and final sample of end product is approved and installed by me.

Guys & Gals, I'm really going out on a limb here to make this happen and plan on investing several thousand dollars in bringing this to a reality.
I am basing this off of the fact that in one week over 200 TW members showed interest in this concept and have been very supportive.
I will not be asking for ANY $ up front. (Thanks, but don't offer)

End Result: A Satoshi Mod that can be done with your own grill in just an hour or so for a great price!

    Thank you!:D

Not sure if I missed it somewhere in the thread earlier, but how does the insert attach to the grill? Do we need to drill out any plastic welds, does it just snap in, or is it attached by screws, etc. I am pretty interested in this item. Can't wait to see the prototype.

it will attach via re-plastic welding with a soldering iron attachment or plastic adhesive. I will post instructions, I'm pretty good at that...

Read through the entire thread, did not see this question posted:

Will this insert work with the Elusive Elements offerings? I am interested in their outer grille screen that mounts flush, but do not want my cut grille behind it. Having those cut sections would drive me crazy...shoot,I may decide to go with the Satoshi style Elusive Element screen after all if your product will work with theirs...

    Thanks.

This was an answered question for me, too, thanks.

One other question: will this insert work with the aftermarket grilles also, should one want to order one to be color matched?

I posted in the GB thread that YES, I see no reason why it would not work.
    - the Elusive Elements grill does not come with pieces for the little triangles though...:(
assuming that the aftermarket grills mount points are the same as the OEM ones there should be no issue.:D

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
I would like to see the step by step procedure of taking the grill out to putting it back in with the mod before I would say yes sign me up. This seems like a great idea for those who want this but are on a tighter budget than the rest.

I think Homer seriously deserves something great for doing this! I would have definitely been on board to buy one but I have a vehicle inspection coming up and need the truck to be complete and finished before Homer will have them available for sale. I decided to do my own grill and started searching all over for the right mesh to put on. I have read here that some members have purchased theirs from customcargrills.com and decided to check them out. They have the most variety out of anyone else I have seen. I called Matt from custom car grills and spoke with him about this huge group buy and suggested to him that he make contact with the forum moderators about becoming a vendor and he said he was excited to. He also said that if things work out, he will be offering a discount of some sorts for TW members. Just so everyone knows...I paid full price! I am not getting anything out of this plug but rather just wanted to share this info with everyone here!!! I personally got the diamond XXL powder coated black.
