Leer canopy leak fix

Hi everyone, I thought I would share my fix for a leaky leer canopy. The leer canopy design has a flaw at the rear window seal as it allows rain to run down into the rear rail and pool at the front. This is where most people think they have an issue with the front gap.. I ended up fabricating a skirt that blocks the rain and diverts it away from the side rail. Take a look. I hope this helps people with any water intrusion.

 

During Winter I noticed water on the top rail carpet towards the back on the right side. It didn’t seem to be coming down the sides from the window. I only spent several seconds looking at it a few months ago and haven’t thought too much about it or checked it since then.

this is great! What material did you use for this fix? Butyl putty?

I used a rubber pond liner material as the it was flexible and stuck it with Butyl tape. Seems to be holding up well over the years. You could always cut an old bicycle inter tube for the gasket.

 

Lunabird, what did you use to glue the rubber piece to the camper shell?

 

I used butly tape as a temporary solution, I’ve never changed it since installing it. So I guess it works.
