Mostly all back, the whiskies that changed the most for me were this Ezra 7, Elijah Craig BP, and JD SBBS. The taste of those never quite came back all the way unfortunately.

Weird. I have an Old Ezra 7 open right now and I'd say it's one of my sweetest, most caramelish bottles at the moment.

Bucking the Fryeday trend. Sorry. 17 y/o Beamium release will have to do.

Anyone ever heard of letting the whiskey breathe for a minute for each year of aging it has? :notsure: I’m sure it’s one of them to each their own things…just asking.

How are all the JD specials if you will? I always just think of the everyday handle of Jack. I know I should get out that. :anonymous:

I love the JD SBBS - hard to find, so the two times I’ve seen it, I have two bottles.

As for me tonight - it’s a barrel strength kind of night - no photos..but 1792 Full Proof followed by Wolcott Rickhouse Select, which is also a barrel strength. Not as smooth as the 1792, but still a good bottle for $42.

I typically let them rest until I no longer get ethanol on the nose.

I don't time it. I'm just looking for excess vapors to bleed off.

This could be entirely placebo, but I have enjoyed my experience more since starting to do this.

    They are monstrously good.

Something horrific happens to Jack Daniel's when it is cut.

Old No. 7 and Gentleman Jack are some of the weakest, most boring whiskies on the market. The Single Barrel, Barrel Proof releases are some of the best whiskies on the market.

I cannot begin to explain this other than something incredibly critical is lost when water is added.
