What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yea, that don't work, tried it....

 

Put on my @Coupe battery hood down I bought years ago for my 01 on the 1998. Bled the coolant, tomorrow the bed goes on. She’s going to be road worthy very soon

 

That battery tie down is nice but half the time I use the stock one like a tray to set tools in so they don't roll away

 

Ok... So, I got the 63s disassembled and ordered the poly bushings.

I think this is how I'm going to set them up for my first guess for which leafs to use (spring rate).

What is the consensus on which paint to use? I'm thinking POR 15.

 

I don't speak form experience but I remember hearing POR 15 isn't good on leafs because it doesn't flex well. Hopefully someone knows for sure

 

A graphite paint is what I thought I may use on my springs for lubrication. Don't know if it's super durable though

So when I was chasing my starter issue, I noticed my passenger side CV axle had a torn boot...it just never ends.
That got replaced today, along with the front differential bushings. Replaced those with the Durobumps ones, pretty straightforward.
And....it needs brakes, tires, and upper ball joints. Sigh.

 

I like the custom one because it stops me from doing that.

Sooo I got some 4Runner seats for cheap. But this inner as in closer to center console rear bracket is 90 degrees the wrong way. The fuck.

I think this may correct your issue.

 

Yeah I have those, that does fix the outside closer to door rear bracket but I have these and I’m perplexed

Forgive the mess. The hole is there but blocked off it appears. I can’t imagine it’s threaded

 

You could get through it and just stick a bolt through and out a nut on the other side. Whatever grade is safe of course.

when I’m not as violently angry that the hole isn’t there I’ll consider it. I put them back on marketplace.

 

Put the 2019 Tacoma wheels I picked up from marketplace.

 

None of holes aren't "threaded" exactly since they're in sheet metal. They have nuts welded on to the underside. You can see them easily if you crawl under the truck. That last pair of holes is missing in regular cab/bench seat trucks, but it should be straightforward to drill and tack a nut on if you're sufficiently motivated.
