I know this is subjective all around the country. But have you any of you folks been able to score some decent/great deals on new 2023 Tacomas? I'm in the market again for one and want to get a general sense of what you folks are seeing. TIA!

Call any dealer within flying/driving-back distance, hope you can find what you want. Even now you should be able to find something that works.

Three weeks ago I got $3100 off on a DC Sport with a manual transmission. I had called dealers with pending allocations in 5 states in August. These guys called me the day it rolled in to their lot and were willing to deal to get it off the lot ASAP. I suspect dealers have gotten spoiled pre-selling their allocations and when they show up unsold they get motivated.

edit to add this was in Ohio and I drove 230 miles each way to get it.

with the start of the auto worker strike i would think you need to act fast if you want to find a good deal. Unless i absolutely had to buy a truck (accident/totaled etc) i wouldnt

As long as you're at or under MSRP you are doing good on a tacoma.

Most people bragging how they paid under MSRP don't realize the dealer made it up somewhere else in the deal.

I mean that is the dealers job to make profit, just like any business. My deal went through TFS at a subvented that TFS probably paid a flat of $800-$1,400 max to dealer. They also made dealer handling of $324. I'm at 2.49% & received $2,600 off after the dealer fee is accounted for. Still happy.

I get that lol, that's not what I'm saying.

Dealer's offer a discount to make someone feel like they are getting the best deal but in reality, the dealer is making up that discount on the back end of the deal. So really most are paying around MSRP just like everyone else.

About 3500 under MSRP was the best I was able to get (which puts it around MRSP cash OTD). I was seeing an average of dealers willing to come down around 2 under MRSP though. The biggest thing these days is to make sure you find a dealer that's not doing any type of ADM or useless dealer "benefits" (which are usually thousands). My local dealer charges 3300 extra on everything for some package of useless crap, but they usually will waive it after threatening to just buy it at another nearby dealer that doesn't have those fees.

This is a huge difference from last year. Where people were using markup as a starting point of negotiating and not msrp.

things have rapidly changed over the last few months.

Some here still post about paying markups today … sucker born every minute I suppose

I have been hearing Tacoma commercials on the radio for zero percent interest financing on all trims except Pro's.
