Seems like getting in a Tacoma at under MSRP is becoming possible again. Hopefully we can get back to the good ole days of 10%+ off.

Yes, this past Thursday. Love it so far. Toyota seems to have refined the 6MT a lot since my previous 2019. I do not even feel the need to delete the accumulator or get a tune for my new truck. And the Pro rides a lot better than my 19 TRDOR did.

After months of talking with online dealers and over 4 trips to the dealerships I was finally able to settle on an appropriate price. Pro tip: never be afraid to walk away from a deal and use multiple dealerships to leverage your deal. The dealership add-ons are typically a total waste of money and you can almost always find after market tacoma features to be much cheaper. I.e. Predator steps are almost $900 on Toyota's website; bought them for $250 on FB marketplace. If you do your research, and can be patient, you quite literally save thousands of dollars.

How in the heck did you get a $2905 discount? The only discount I have seen is $1000, but they also charge you $1999 for all weather floor mats, paint protector and fabric protector.

 

Pure luck honestly. Was bored at work and browsing Autotrader, Cars.com and Truecar. Was only going to get a Tacoma if I could find one on discount and every dealer was sticking to MSRP. Truecar gave me that discounted price when I clicked "get your Trueprice" and I figured it was too good to be true. Dealer called me the next day and I asked why it showed that price and he said they were trying to move inventory and it was their "last one" with the discount. I tried to pick a different truck but they would only honor the discount on 2 of their incoming trucks so I snagged it. They sent me the online deal and paperwork and everything is signed with no shady fees or trade in requirements or financing BS. Still makes me apprehensive but everything is signed and finalized so maybe I just got really lucky?

 

Wow! Almost sounds too good to be true. I would have snagged it too.

 

I managed to buy my 23 TRD OR 6MT for sticker plus $299 bullshit dealer paperwork fee. I had to search nationwide to find it. I had a dealer in Oregon offer me -$1500, but someone beat me to the punch.

 

The best I have found is MSRP plus $699 doc fee. But this dealer doesn’t add any dealer add-ons and seems to get trucks without a bunch of distributor add-ons. A discount with a larger amount of add-ons is no discount.

 

I found one for $2,900 off MSRP as well albeit a 2022 (this was last October). No adds just dealer handling for $324. It’s rare but the discounts are happening.
