Alright, here are the results of the survey.
    Best time: Weekend evening
    Location: Surly

Thanks to everyone that took the survey! Let's find a time that works. If people would like I can create another survey to find the best weekend and time.

Makes sense, lets plan on a different day. I'll make a survey and post it tomorrow.

I actually just got a tune from Aaron on Monday for my 2nd gen Tacoma. He's a great guy and knows what he is doing. Truck is more responsive now as well!

I got my 2nd gen 6 spd tuned by him a few weeks ago. Loving it. Still not a "sports car" but I feel a lot more comfortable getting up to speed when merging on the highway.

Great dude and seemed knowledgeable. We were able to meet at a mutual location and the entire process took maybe 45 min.

the AC in my truck has been absolutely clutch this week. I'm been driving all over the place for work and would be in trouble without it

stay cool out there - I'm ready for the snow

Has anyone here installed the XTP intake manifold spacer? How did it go? I got one and am planning on installing this week.

Not me, but it sounds like snake oil. I have a vague memory of there being some threads on the topic.

    Here is one:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/afe-throttle-body-spacer-report-back.512677/

Unless someone posts actual quantitative results, I remain highly skeptical about products like this. Not everyone has a dyno, but there are other ways of obtaining numerical results, e.g. 0-60 timing, 1/4 mile timing, time a X to Y mph/rpm pull in a single gear, etc.

Thats the throttle body spacer, he is talking about the intake manifold spacer. The intake manifold spacers do not make more power, but they do move the power band down lower. So if your truck makes max power at 4k rpm, the spacer will lower it to 3k rpm.

    Oops. Good catch.

This is the thread I was thinking of (I think).

has anybody heard of (or used) Northland oil? Toll blender operation out of Waterloo IA.

I got some fluids changed out on the truck this week at a shop in Victoria and ask what brand fluids they used just for my notes. Apparently everything they use is from Northland unless they can't get it or you specifically request otherwise.

I trust the shop (good mechanics) but I don't yet trust Northland's fluids. Going to have to dig into them. Their website isn't exactly encouraging - there's nothing on it - but I guess you want those people to be good at oil not good at websites. Saw on another forum that they are the OEM fill for some John Deere tractors.

    https://northlandproducts.com/

I'm all about buying local and it never hurts to be conscious of costs, but I'm hesitant for now.

Yeah. It’s downtown by the John Deere foundry. They’ve been around a long time. I’ve not heard anything bad about them.

Looks like over 100 years. I'm surprised there's not more info out there.
