Trying to find a permanent solution to the dreaded clutch pedal creek . The issue is over time I will develop a creek noise when engaging the 3rd pedal . I’ll apply grease to the assembly and the problem will go away then return over time . I have had the clutch pedal assembly replaced when it was under warranty and it worked for a while then came back . Getting tired of constantly having to apply the grease .

I have only ever had to grease mine once in 97k and had to adjust it for the click once also. If you are having repeat issues, you could consider the metal FJ pedal swap, but we here do not know any long term usage issues as only have few folks have posted up about installing it.

Try high temperature disc brake grease, it won't melt away.

I had to grease my plastic pedal at nearly 16K miles. It was right at a year ago. I stuck a bunch of disc brake grease in the pocket where the master cylinder plastic pecker looking thing goes into the back of the pedal. Didn't have anymore noise after that and that was at double the mileage when I got rid of the plastic pedal...I was around 37K at that point so I had over 22K on the grease I added. The disc brake grease is tacky and stays around where it needs to be.

As rusty pointed out, I did do the FJ pedal swap and a write-up on how to do it. That pedal provides a nice positive feel with no more wonky side to side play like the plastic one had.

Unfortunately, it is not dead silent so far in my use either. But, I haven't done any investigating to figure out why. The plastic pedal made a groan that sounded like a creaking stair, and I could feel it in the clutch release. The noise the FJ pedal is making is much quieter and almost not audible, and I don't feel it. But it is there, and I need to figure out why. I think it might be something to do with the master cylinder rod going in and out of the cylinder. I'll figure it out eventually.

I lubed the other moving parts with grease when I assembled so I know it's not them (the spring, the pivot, etc.)

I do still prefer the FJ pedal regardless and I'll figure out the noise to it soon enough.

did you do the TSB for it? I had mine done at 27k miles and at 73K now and it hasn't come back.

Unfortunately that’s not an option I have no clue how to drive an automatic. I get in and get confused no third pedal . Stick only goes up and down and has all these letters with numbers . It’s really confusing . Also has a big red button like I’m going to launch a missile or something . It’s really really strange …

Unfortunately I’m out of warranty so I don’t think it will be covered .

I'd recommend lubing with polyurethane energy suspension grease. Safe for plastic, extraordinarily tacky and will stay in place and has teflon in it for a lasting "repair"

As far as I understand, TSBs can be applied after an expired warranty. I had this issue, the TSB people mentioned was really for the master cylinder, not the contact point you’ve correctly identified. The cylinder was remedied at the factory for 2020+ so no TSB for those folks.

Don’t take it to the dealer, they’ll jerk you around. Only solution is to keep it greased with high pressure wheel bearing grease. Don’t fall for the Toyota space grease, it’s just moly impregnated axle grease.

My 1990 Pathfinder had a similar issue, with a slightly different solution (clevis pin replacement). Tale as old as time for clutch pedals as far as I’m concerned. Still a better problem than letting the computer be reactive rather than the driver being able to be proactive! Manual for the win!

How does it to under high pressure? From my understanding the $50/oz fancy Toyota “body grease” they use for this is just moly axle grease.

It's a technical safety bulletin so warranty should be a non issue. There are still TSBs posted for my 2004 4Runner which is 20 years old and way out of warranty.

I wouldn't use it for say lubing a u-joint or ball joint but for the clutch pedal pivot it's more than sufficient. The clutch pedal pivot that causes the squeak isn't a high pressure area.
If you're talking slave to release arm or release arm pivot then I would use moly grease but even those aren't high pressure, it's just that if the moly is in a petroleum carrier grease it wouldn't compromise anything over time there as it's all metal compared to the clutch pivot which has plastic. Even then I wouldn't pay 50$/oz for grease. I'll just get jet-lube m-55 or something similar

Tsb don't expire but they are not covered outside of the specified warranty. Also i have a 2021 and there was no tsb for me. They just lubed mine with fluid film and told me it was the owners responsibility to continually lube it as needed

Sorry, but TSBs are Technical Service Bulletins and are very much subject to a warranty period. They all state just that:
