I have two questions that I'd like to dive into...

    1. Occasionally my tire pressure warning light starts to blink. The tire pressure on the dash readings dash out (see photo below). What could be the cause?
    2. Occasionally I get the smell of antifreeze when starting the truck. Almost as if it being blown through my vents. Thoughts?FullSizeRender.jpg

How old are your TPMs sensors? They have a finite life span and have to be replaced eventually

If you have the original 2016 tire pressure sensors the batteries are getting tired by now, you probably notice it happening more since the weather got colder too.

The smell might be the coolant crossover pipe on the back of the engine, it is made of plastic... :annoyed:

Just wondering did u check your actual tire pressure . The blank dots will show when you start the truck it doesn’t register till u start rolling. Antifreeze has a sweet smell .if u haven’t ina awhile change your cabin air filter they can produce an odd smell after a while from not being changed .

Do you get the dashes after you've been driving and the pressures have been shown? Does the light go off when the pressures are displayed? Likely it's dying sensor battery or you've somehow blocked the tpms signal to the receiver (this is rare but we've seen it).

You can get a read on the battery condition via techstream.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Any good tire shop should replace the batteries in the TPMS when you get new tires. My ‘16 are still kicking on new batteries Costco put in maybe 4.5 years ago. I’d guess it would cost $100-150 for a shop to do it outside of getting new tires.

Is your antifreeze overflow tank low? Any pink stuff on the floor of the garage? That’s how I knew I had a leak on mine.

Failed to mention, 2016 OF, with 136,683 miles on the truck.
I did check the pressure and it is fine. After doing research, seems as if its sensor battery that is dying. I am slated to get tire in the few months or so. I think that's when I will change it. Def has a sweet smell of antifreeze. I havent checked the cabin filter, but can put it on the list.

Dashes show after driving for a bit, before pressures are reading normal. All flags point to a battery dying I think.

Yup thats the plan when I get new tires in a few months, Ill just wait it out.
Tank is not low, and have not noticed oink stuff on the floor. Its only happened about three times, so im assuming its a fairly new issue. Still need to investigate where the leak is coming from.

    Yikes.

I’ve never seen a TPMS sensor with a replaceable battery.

Can somebody post a link to where you can buy batteries for Toyota tpms sensors?
