Just pull the overhead console. It’ll take less than 5 minutes for both lights. No tape or pincers necessary

    Just gettin’ started
The kit instructions had the tape method. I briefly tugged on the whole console with a trim tool but abandoned ship and went back to the tape. Some of these trim pieces just seem fragile and sound terrible when you’re prying on them, lol. But I’ll know next time, thanks!

    ^This!

you can see the red retainer clips that hold it in here and the connection you can disconnect at the bottom left, if you want to do it outside the truck.

I feel you. I was very concerned about busting a clip until I watched a video. Just get fingers under the leading edge and pull.
It’s really similar to the dash trim around the stereo. First time was scary, but now I just pop it off willy nilly

    Just got it
So today I decided to install my power tailgate lock, all was going well after watching the videos and getting tips from here. I am getting ready to put the push nut on the actuator arm and panic set in, I couldn’t find it!!! All the parts were laid out on the bed of the truck and mat (which are all black), and searched for hours!! 3-4 people helped to no avail. I went to various hardware stores and auto parts stores with NO luck. So, I go looking some more because I knew I saw it the first thing I was unpacking everything. My neighbor a 76 old lady comes to talk to me in the garage, and BOOM she finds it! It was on the end of the handle of a the little screw driver (which is magnetic), I gave her the biggest hug I have ever giving. All went well from there and everything works. Below is a photo of the little devil.

Pulled my truck into the ambulance bay last night, gave it a bath, cranked the heat to dry it out and applied Blaster undercoating. Snow and salt will be here soon enough.

Ordered the N2 Designs remote start kit.

I went with 265/65r17 but I’m thinking about going up a size to 275. Still on the fence.

4WD all the way to work this morning through 5-8 cm of wet snow. No A/C, but I’m guessing no big fuel economy gains either.
