    Puttin my 5100's on today with my dad. Anything I need to be aware or cautious about? A guy bought my stock shocks so it gave me a good excuse to have to change them out.

    My tires are worn bad and I'm in the process of getting new ones at the moment. Going with Eibach coils set at .85 also. Should I o ahead and set the shocks to .85. when I put them on or wait till I get tires and coils?

    You'll need a coil spring compessor and make sure you put the plate on the shock correctly. Good luck!

    If you are going to put the stock springs on now and change to Eibachs later it is going to be a lot more money getting the springs compressed twice and an alignment after each.
    If you can wait till you get the springs then you can do it one time and save some money

    Well I will prob be getting tires in the next week or so anyway so I was going to hold out on the alignment until then so I won't have to pay for it twice. So maybe I should just set it to 0 for now so I won't have to compress my springs?

    You will have to compress the springs to remove them from the shocks.
    Do not remove the big nut in the middle without having the springs compressed they are under a bunch of pressure.
    Read the how to before you start for your safety.

    I rented a compressor from Auotzone for cheap, just call them and see if they have one for rent.

    Ok well putting the back ones on you have the metal ring that came off the stock and the metal ring that was sent with the 5100's. The stock one has a little lip that sticks all the way up through the whole to put the nut on with and the 5100 ring doesn't.

    Does it matter and by looking at the stock setup it goes ring/black plastic piece/ring then through the hole black piece/nut... First time doing this so i wanna make sure i have it right the first time and not have to take it back off.

    it should be washer bushing put the shock though the hole then
    put on the next bushing washer then nut

    Before i finally got the plastic pulled down the shock a little bit... Might be a dumb question but I've always wondered.. Why is one shock in front and one behind the axle?
