Will 255/85/16 tires fit on a stock 2023 Tacoma SR5, or what do I need to do to run this size tire?

I just read that post. Thank you. The problem I have is most people on here seem to have a TRD. I have a SR5, but it is the off road version. I’m wanting to know if the offset is the same as the offset on the TRD to see if it will fit on my stick truck as well

Did you mean to say it is NOT the off road version? If you have the SR5 wheels then I definitely see what you are saying as the offset is different. I'll step aside and let someone with personal experience or more knowledge give you advice.

No, it IS the off road version. At least it says 4x4 Off Road on the rear panel. That might not mean anything. I’m not too knowledgeable on Toyotas. The only other Toyota I’ve ever owned was a 92’ Toyota extra cab with the 3.0 V6. Definitely one of the best I ever had before it finally bit the dust last year at over 450,000 miles.

I'm almost 100% sure the SR5 Offroad is just an aftermarket decal. From the looks of the wheels, I think you have the same offset as the TRD Offroad wheels. Check out this forum for reference. If that is actually the case then whatever worked for someone with the TRD Offroad wheels should work from you.

@GameBred91 very nice old and new Taco! Unfortunately a 255/85R16 will not fit your stock SR5 4X4. The factory tire is 30 inches tall and the proposed tire is 33 inches tall. You would need mods to make it work.

I ran 255/80/17 on a bone stock 3rd gen, minor rubbing at the back of the fender well.

Get a shop to mount up one on the front passenger wheel, see what happens, and take the sticker off lol.

I've seen numerous people do it with no mods in my time here with stock wheels. I can't say what, if any difference wheels make. But it is certainly doable.
