Instead of duct tape you could use 3m tape on the oem connector and attach to the speaker adapter plastic (plenty of wire slack)
    IMG_1660.jpg

I realize that that top speaker grill shouldn’t be installed and will take it off when I get those xtc foam backer/shields in the mail. I also will be getting bolts/nuts to attach over the included screws.

you cut out quite a bit of the xtc foam, more than I was expecting to do. Was this because of clearance? Also why did you not go with 6x9 xtc to go behind the plastic speaker adapter so it’s against the door skin?

Finished up setting up my Sony XAV-AX6000. It sounds great. It definitely opened up my kicker cs door speakers. :thumbsup:20231210_153448.jpg

Been doing stuff with my new boat the past few months, but winter is here and I needed a better setup for my battery maintainer and oil pan heater. Before I had a extension cord sticking out the front for the oil pan heater, and a SAE plug in the wheel well for the charger.
Got a new onboard charger to replace the other maintainer, and got a noco surface mount plug.
I need to get a switch though for the oil pan heater so its not always running. The charger is fine to always run at night, but no need for the oil to be heated over night.

This is the boat I have been restoring for the past few months

Queued up the payoff amount for the last 2 months of payments on my truck to pay tomorrow. The truck will be all mine and I get credit for paying it off ahead of schedule. Score!

Not having a truck/car payment AND having a nice truck to boot is a truly awesome feeling.

    Congrats

Great color BTW, if I had not found the Quicksand truck I wanted, I would have gone Army green

Boring choice I suppose, but they fit my needs. Goodbye stock Toyos that were really starting to suck in the wet.

A few days late to post, but new Kumho Crugen HT51 tires in the stock size. Yeah, my wheels are dirty, I need to clean the truck.

Rides nice, no vibrations, already better in the wet. Let's see how they do over time. I like them so far.

Those are 6 1/2 speakers not 6x9's so the adapter has a 6.5" hole in the middle. The baffles were for 6.5's so that's their actual exterior dimensions on the front. I only trimmed 1/2 the back for water drips. You can see it from behind in this pic

    True story ...

Wilmington, NC ... battleship North Carolina which is now a museum (go see it if you can ... get the "Hidden Battleship" tour if you can! https://battleshipnc.com). They have the original vacuum-tube radio on board, which they finally scavenged enough tubes and other parts to resurrect.

THEN ... they called Pearl Harbor all the way from Wilmington NC.

Welcome to TW. I purchased my 2022 mainly because I did not want a 4-cylinder turbo engine. I would prefer a gasoline 8 cylinder however I will settle for a 6 cylinder.

Really need to get another CB rigged up in my Taco. Had a full set up in my JKRU before selling it, as we do a lot of rock crawling and even more camping in remote National Forrest areas and found it invaluable in certain situations.
An absolute necessity in Moab for EJS.

My thoughts exactly, love my Quicksand, but the Army green would have been my next search.
