Watching this thread for updates. The 2lo mod works flawlessly, so I have complete faith in this kit. Frosted mirrors are getting old

Aye, if he starts offering these again, maybe as a pre-paid group buy, I am IN. I already have SpotterMirrors w/ heating element connections on the back.

I'm sure it's been said multiple times in the previous 95 pages of this thread, but..

FWIW, I installed my own heated mirrors a few years ago for under 200 bucks in parts IIRC. Sienna mirrors, Highlander switch, a couple connectors/pins, fuse tap, some wiring/relay from Napa, and a couple hours of my time. Hardest part for me was fishing the wires through the door jamb race and into the cab behind the kick panel, so really not much more work than the plug-n-play kit.

Don't get me wrong, OP does fantastic work and puts many hours into development and testing, not to mention it does look clean and stock under the dash. So don't take this as price-bashing or anything derogatory. I have his 2Lo module and it works flawlessly. Just saying you don't have to wait for him to do another run of kits, if he does. It's simple enough to DIY with basic tools and baseline electrical aptitude.

Heated mirrors are by far my most-used mod so far, and it baffles me that it was never offered as a factory option considering they can be built using all Toyota OEM parts.

I wanna say 2012 Sienna mirrors and 01-04 Highlander dash switch. You may have to transfer the Sienna glass to the slightly-modified plastic backing plate from the tacoma . I now remember that part being kind of a PITA but not hard. Lemme find the old thread I used...

    EDIT:
Here's the thread I used. A few different options for how to go about it. Sienna mirrors, custom warming pads, etc.

That would be an option if I had a basic level of electrical aptitude. Unfortunately, even the plug an play kit is pushing my current comfort level in wiring. Something I look to get better at over time, but I'm not there yet

ah gotcha. Well, hey, you can always use this as a chance to learn. Get a couple rolls of red n black wire, relays, and connectors (all the non-expensive bits) and make your own plug-n-play kit. Build it outside of the truck, test it all out, then when you're satisfied with it get the mirrors and switch and test it again.

I DID IT!!! But still need to finish the heaters. My 2009 TRD OR 6-speed now looks like a 2015 TRD Sport Auto.

Wow... how hard/ what did you have to do extra (if anything) to swap the front end to 2.5gen?

The hood, headlights, bumper, grill and mounting need changed out. However, if you're going to install an aftermarket bumper, you may not need 3 mounting pieces behind the grill. The Victory Strike doesn't require them. The front side panels are the same so no swapping there. There's a good write-up on here for the conversion.

Never needed this before living in the desert, but I currently find myself needing heated mirrors. Is OP started making these again, or has anyone picked up the torch?

I always find it interesting that someone doesn’t pick up where others left off. This is a good example. Same thing with the JFR mid pipes.

Would love a set of the equal length headers that someone on here made and sold for a while... if I had the time and money to buy a tig welder and teach myself how to do it and get fairly good then I'd be happy to pick up on that project, but I'm very much lacking both the time and especially money for that one...
