Teenage drivers and "gee the shop sid I JUST MIGHT get away with machining these" rotors. Just buy new rotors ... cheapest in the long run as new drivers either hit the brakes 10x more than necessary or only when they are about to hit something and bad rotors are dangerous.

Discovered it’s normal for the truck to turn off after remote start when you open the door! Lame feature.
Also, that the wireless phone charger tray is all but worthless.

I find the wireless phone charger tray very convenient for anything but charging the phone

I was joking about the floor mats. They’re included in the oil change, tire rotate and inspection. These were OEM refills…

To keep people from driving off with your truck because when you remote-start in deep-winter in your driveway ... outside of your view ... when people can just waltz up to the truck without you seeing ... (need I continue)

Q-charger sucks, but others replaced it with a deep-cavity storage well.

The "floor mat inspection" is a bit of sarcasm based in reality. Years back Toyota had a safety recall due to floor mats causing the accelerator to get stuck, so now every time you take it in they inspect the floor mats. And there isn't much to do at the 5k interval (I think for mine they checked the floor mats, fluids, and rotated the tires). We don't take the older Toyotas in every 5k; just every 10 for the oil change or other PM.

Normal function of aftermarket autostarts and other manufacturers, keyed ignition or otherwise, is to verify key is where it needs to be (ignition in on position, or keyless fob in vehicle) before allowing you to put it in gear. If the key isn’t present, the vehicle shuts off when the brake is pressed.
Is shutting off on door open more secure somehow?

Question TW: Would a bilstein 5100 suspension and lift kit for an FJ cruiser fit a 3rd gen Tacoma??

Then buy your own aftermarket. The fact my truck goes nowhere without my fob is fine with me.

I’m already set but thank you.
I’m only replying to you because I’ve read this silly justification a lot recently and I know you have thick skin.
It’s okay to say “It doesn’t bother me” or “It sucks, get used to it”.
Just because this is an enthusiast community doesn’t mean we have to defend and rationalize every poor or unnecessary design and function.
You can’t drive any car that’s been autostarted without having the key. What causes it to shut off and the fact that tacomas are atypical is what many take issue with

As an owner of a DCSB, I couldn’t agree with this statement more. The 5’ bed borders on humorous. Luckily I can pile stuff ON my DB.
