What is the functional or performance gain using different wheel offsets?

I have to second this statement. I thought my truck is less sensitive to road crown running a 0 offset but it could just be the tires.
Personally I think a +5 to 0 offset looks really good.

 

To all the people saying there’s no functional difference: throw some 35x12.5x17 on your stock rims real quick then come back and try again.

 

Negative wheel offset creates better stability...I Googled it so as such my answer is "beyond contestation."

I went +5 with 33" 255/80/17 Wildpeak's, and a 2" Lift. Soooo glad I didn't have to remove my mudflaps, or do any trimming.

Stock. We are talking about stock. Change size, all bets are off.

 

The tires are 265/75/16 BFG All Terrain K02 and the rims are 16x8 0mm offset KMC Impact OL. Really happy with the way they look and fit.

I haven't put a new tire on my spare yet but I've read that it should fit without any issues. Seems like this tire size is really the way to go if you want to run a larger tire without having to do any cutting.

Am I the only one that is sad @SCSPerformance refuses to make a 17” wheel with +0 offset?

 

This is, in fact, the main driver on the topic... However, depending on where you live, this value may be negative...

I am a fan of the Ray 10 look. - I'm sad they don't make a 16"...

- but maybe also happy because then my current wheels are the best looking option by quite a bit.

 

What is your setup?

 

I have the stock 16" PRO wheels - I do not recall the offset on these, With Falken AT3w 265 75 16 - one notch up from stock. And I do not foresee going any bigger...

Method or Icon doesn’t magically create Long Travel

 

On the front there is no increased wheel articulation with wheel offset. In the rear there technically is but the 50mm swing from +25 to -25 would end up in a pretty negligible articulation increase.

Just think about the geometries involved and it’s pretty simple to picture.

 

Doesn’t make sense , you gain more range when you increase your track width ….simple Geometry
