@Speedytech7 How did you setup your overload on your pack?
I've been reading people chopping it entirely, cutting one end or both and to varying lengths.

Did you guys wind up re using the little metal shims between the springs?

Keep the shims! They're the key to compliance... but I removed my overload. I don't tow with my Chevies... I would run your stock Toyota overload personally if you feel you have to have one.

I don't have any stock overloads and my alcans didn't have any. Just the one off that beast of a pack i picked up. I might be able to snag one from a friend.
It seems people were running them to limit uptravel or use it as a spacer.

I don't plan on towing but i do have quite a bit of junk in my trunk. Guess i'll just have to play around with them.

You can try the chevies with their stock ones, they're just a flat overload though so they will limit up-travel a bit. How much weight are you carrying though, remember these leafs are for a 1/2 ton or greater truck so even before resting on the overloads they were made to hold up more than our trucks do. The reason I'd use a Toyota overload if I had to have one is because they're designed to frown a bit.

I need to go load up and find that out to be honest.
Where is spot that can get you a front and back weight. Last spot I went just did total.

I think i'm going to try without since I have 5 to start.
The overload is arched a bit but there is no way it will ever flex. Thing is just a long spacer at this point.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I wouldn't run an overload. That'll limit your up travel too much. Plus... I call that thing the rock catcher spring. It's no good for clearance. Without the overload, even if you happen to be on a rock, it'll slide on your leafs. That overload will hang up.

Also... confused as to why those brackets on your bottom leaf are facing down. Shouldn't those be facing up?

nope. that pack came with them pointed down. I might ditch that bottom because of that and run some different ones.

Saw this. Thought it was kind of interesting. Interesting... but not sure what I think beyond that. LOL.

Anyone else seen these? Was wondering what other people think of them. This may be a good way to get a set of 63s dialed in, unless I'm missing something.

Certainly a way to avoid doing math haha, people will often go to great lengths to avoid such a terrible fate as holding a TI-84 and doing trig.

Trig has been the best thing ive ever learned from school...I have used it so much when building/fabricating.

The more I look at this thing that was posted the more I think it is dual purpose. It seems to be adapting the weird stock shackle box on an XJ as a primary function and maybe acting as an adjustment for a truck that didn't have enough variables figured out to even do math with.

Math will only get you so far. There are a lot of variables at play that effect ride height (mostly being weight). There are adjustments that are necessary once you get everything together, loaded, on the road and after everything settles.

With math, you can definitely take an educated shot in the dark. But it's still a completely new set up (on that individual truck) which makes it, still, a shot in the dark.

I am almost positive that set up is on a Jeep. Most likely an XJ like you said.

I think something like this would be a good way to try things, I don't think I'd leave it as my actual setup though, just use it to find a shackle length and resting angle that worked. Could probably make a set of adjustable shackles easy enough.]

Reminds me a bit of the poly slider replacement for a shackle actually.
