https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/1st-gen-long-travel-discussions.750980/page-11 might see more traffic. Lots of people left about the time of the end of el rojo and that was kind of the withdraw of the 1st gens in the lt world - they all sold their trucks and got 4runners or started again with a mid travel platform

Have you been on blgt - I figure you would. Waste enough time on the 1st gen forum, it would be a bigger time sink for me lol

I follow that thread and I’ll have to post there as clearly not much 1st gen here. I know when I’m not wanted :D Yeah before Rojo died I was, and still do, spending most of my screen time on IG. IG is cool for truck porn but miss the interaction of the forums and told myself I would try to get back in forum bs-ing. I am in BLGT reminds me of TTORA merged with Dezertrangers lol. Ton of badass fabricators and knowledgeable dudes over there. But I’m a yota lover and especially tacomas!

Another interesting thing in my 8 year hiatus build back better is not a lot meets/runs on here compared to back then. Shit those were good old days!

I had those UCA love holes on my old truck when it was mid travel. Just kisses from fun!

Aren’t modded truck fun!!! I am super curious to hear what was causing it, when you find out.

Hit something, first pic shows point of impact, to the left is towards the front, this is the passenger side.

Second pic is the drivers side, to the right is towards the front.

Difference between driver side and passenger is about a 1/4 inch or more. Is it enough to cause hunting while at speed? Shrug...

For the most part all the bolts/nuts were tight in the rear.

Pulled all my skids and inspected all pivots, nothing seem bent and or cracked, all the frame welds were clean and 0 visible cracks. (front)

Today I am going to drop the leaf packs ( hopefully) and switch sides. This will give the opportunity to inspect deeper and try something else if nothing turns up. At this point I am willing to try anything.

even if you follow torque / re-torque guidelines, you can still beat up a center pin. what's real fun is trying to get it out of a leaf pack not knowing that you've made a custom "stepped offset" bolt. took @Torspd and I a minute and some unproductive sledge swings to figure out why it wasn't budging.

You need to break those packs down. I’m betting you have a messed up center pin with a hit like that.

The TEdesign cage does a good job of that though I did leave out 1 tube that IMO will not drastically affect the functionality of the cage. The circled tube is one of the 1.5 ich tubes included with all the 2 inch and 1.75 tube this cage is built with. This cage is supposedly race legal....I have no plans on racing this so I have no problem modifying as i see fit for my application. This tube could be easily added at another time also.

You can definitely keep them somewhat normal and comfortable. No tubes exposed below the dash on this one, full functionality of the HVAC system and was even able to section factory carpet back in.
