I'm replacing my divers side cv axle tomorrow and was wondering if there is any possible snags that any of you guys have experienced before in a first gen.

Any tips would be very helpful, this will be the most mechanical thing I have attempted. So wish me luck!

    getting there....
You shouldn't have any trouble. After you move everything out of the way....its cake. A long prybar comes in handy here.

Don't forget the dust cover on the end of the shaft that protects the hub bearing. Not like i have ever had to do the same job twice...

Ya finally gonna do it Phil ?? Malander too ??

    Cool , it'll be a CV R&R Palooza !! :D:D

Not too hard to do once you get all the shit out of your way , try to have a buddy there with ya , you'll need him to support the CV axle while you knock the axle off its splined end for removal because there are 2 axle housing seals (one on each side) & they are super soft, expensive & tear easier than hell, the extra hand is for supporting axle, keeping it all level as you pull the shaft out, I will say if your doing the CV you'd be time & $$ ahead if you just replace the whole axle, thats what I did for both sides & the difference in $$ isn't much about another $20 per side & it'll save you about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in hassle !! ;):D
