Hi, thinking of upgrading to 4WD and I'm not sure I want to take the "first model year" risks on the 2024s (not to mention the prices). I've seen some comments about the gen3 v6 getting fried on steep inclines. Can anyone point me to some discussion about that? Just want to make sure that it doesn't apply to the kind of (mild) off-roading I'm likely to do.

    Thanks

I went off road a few years ago, I went uphill which is steep, I got a message on the screen about oil level (or low oil) due steep hill and experienced off-roader told me it's fine. So I want back up and tried again and made to the top of the hill. It went fine. I know the oil is full before I went to the off road park. So it didn't die on me.

More you go off road and more you know what to do. Beginners usually get nervous at first few times and afterwards, you will get used to it over the time.

I could see myself going up this. Though I'd probably walk to the top first. That whoop-t-do I mentioned, went up a slope like this and all I could see was sky. There were 2 ways to go at the top. A sharp right turn that went to a moderate downhill trail or straight over the top and down at 40 or so degrees into a foot deep hole. My brothers were yelling at me to "turn right" but I couldn't hear them.

    Non issue.
That looks bumpy, it does not, however, look like oil starvation territory.

Probably a Tesla (I am better than you!) type of person. But I do not think that a Tesla approach or departure angle is sufficient, and as to "turtling" ...

But there would be no issue with "oil pressure" ...:rofl:

Unforgivable, but it looks like they got it sorted.
