I used PETG. It does get hot here, but the bike is garaged, and when sitting outside, it's not like the inside of a truck cab. Plus it's air cooled :bikewheelie2:

Whipped this up quick yesterday - made a drop in cup holder that actually fits the water bottle I use regularly. Less than 20min in CAD for this first go. Fit surprisingly well without much adjustment needed.

Has anyone had a printer shift over, say a centimeter and keep printer? Was printing a tower and about halfway through it shifted to the left slightly and kept printing. The base of the tower had not moved. Not sure if someone knocked it or what? Any ideas?

    What haven’t I changed?
I’ve had it happen to me once and it was because my Z stepper motor mount had become loose over time. It’s called a layer shift and there can be several different causes but usually it’s because something is too loose or too tight.

Yeah, layer shift. It can be from a loose belt, the nozzle hitting a part and jamming up until the next layer, sometimes even g-code errors. Sometimes hard to track down what happened unless you re-print and then sit there watching it waiting to happen hah.

layer shift is exactly it! I am hoping I found the issue though, the files I uploaded were formatted for a different model. Reprinting now but will watch it closely. Next step will be to take a look at the hardware and see if anything is out of place.

95% of my layer shifts are from nozzle collision.

Many of those collisions are because of an artifact from a print error: either temperature, extrusion, or a small part of the model broke and jammed.

good to know! I reprinted it with corrected file and different supports and it was successful! Pics to come once the rest of the parts are completed.

    For now....enjoy my beer

I fixed a broken lamp for Zoom whitening from my wife's office. Someone picked it up by the lamp and it broke off where it mounts to the stand. The lamp is a clamshell with only the lower half of the case mounting to the stand. It has a 90 degree turn and is essentially in single shear, making the mount pretty weak. I would have liked to build a totally new case for it, but part of the clamshell seems to be sonically welded along with a touchpad in the top. Removing them would have likely made a big mess out of all of it. Soooo... I built a simple support to reconnect it with the stand and provide more stability. The light is mounted via the factory screws which go through the bottom and hold the case together. I retapped the holes for 6-32 and used some nylon spacers in the counterbores to stabilize the mount. After that I decided to make a handle so someone wouldn't grab the light again to move it, then I made a hanger for the cord and power supply.

Might be a long shot, but has anybody printed or seen plugs for the fender flare holes?

Yesterday, 30 mph winds. Which inspired the print.
    Today, nothin.
    Made a short fan gif.

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
Does this... device, walk sideways to the wind?

    Neat mechanism!

Well I might occasionally be a sucker, but a 1.5k CNC that can do aluminum, and laser cut is something that's interesting enough to kickstarter...

Time to learn the toolchains for that.

This has consumed way too much of my time.
Printed up a stand that clamps on to the side rods and has a swivel incorporated into it, along with the vane attachment.
I feel like a little kid with a new kite on a windless day.
Slight breeze with a storm forecast for this afternoon, :fingerscrossed:
