So this isn’t a usual question because every forum I read are people who want to turn off the lock unlock beep sound.

But I’d like to turn mine on because half the time I can’t tell if I locked or unlocked it and I have to click the button again to double check.

Does anyone know how I can activate my beep sound ? If there’s a module or a fuse or something I need to mess with to get it on?

If you have it you should see this in the front under the hood Beeper for lock and unlock. I don't think they had these on the Tacoma until 2009.

You are correct, 09 was the first year for the remote keyless entry beeper.

    Reserected from the dead.
You going to need the TechStream software to gain access to the truck ECU.

Carista may allow you as well. I haven't played with that system yet, so can't offer an opinion.

The Body ECU isn't on the bus and can't be accessed with a scan tool on 2nd gens, the wireless door control parameters are changed with ignition, door, and button sequences.
08 doesn't have the beeper though so that parameter isn't changeable anyway.

I guess I can be the first to say “search” but there is a thread in the stickies at the top of the main gen2 page for mods/tips/tricks.

    Lots of great info there.

One of the linked threads outlines adding a chime to the early gen2s that didn’t have this option from the factory.

And welcome to TW. Lots of valuable resources here and salty old timers as well. Enjoy!
