No worries sir, I still have my setup! Indeed I did break a lower stud but that’s all fixed now. That is a spare supercharger I purchased a while ago, since I was spending so much time ordering stuff from SCOL I figured may as well buy the stuff to make it a full kit and sell it.

Whew.... didn't want to ask and hear that you were parting out and selling for a Ranger or Tundra, etc..

As much as my truck can be a love/hate relationship, I think I am just going to focus on upgrades vs getting a new vehicle. The new taco seats are nice but too much BS and they are smoking some good stuff with their pricing haha.

THIS is a nice piece! I'm gonna have to add this to page 1 here when I get a chance.

I really need to know who their plug is for sure because all these new vehicle prices are being priced out by someone who is on some really good stuff. :rasta:

Must be on that HB pack if you know what I mean..

also if it’s not already on the front page but may be worthy,
The stock tensioner is a gates 38274. Bonus is the idler pulley it comes with is a direct replacement to the large smooth pulley with 6203 bearing.

Is that an older magnuson nose drive before they had their name cast on them? I noticed it didn’t have a TRD or Magnuson logo. I like how clean that looks

I don’t think we need more power in our ignition coils to be honest I’d rather put that $$$ towards new denso coils.

After trying my hand on some RIPP's for a while I finally conceded after my misfire issue that they caused and have to say that there is no greater output and reliability to be had than in stock units.

I wonder if there should be a section on page 1 for AVOID/NOT RECOMMENDED.

That's not a bad idea. There is some major updating I need to do to page 1 involving new mods discovered by some of you that I haven't gotten the chance to do because either I forgot about it or I just straight up haven't had a chance to do it yet.

The avoid not recommended section is not a bad idea at all.

    Alignment problem with SCOL pulley:

Working on the truck today installing the SCOL “upgraded” pulleys as described in @Murphinator ’s post: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ricks-and-mods.518932/page-2504#post-29676685

While doing this, I kept in the back of my mind Murphinator’s recent catastrophic stud failure.

Here’s what I found regarding the upper ribbed pulley (#1 in pic below)
    IMG_4982.jpg

After taking the original pulley off, I noticed that the inner collar didn’t seem to be at the same depth. Realizing the bearing thickness is different, I decided to line them up on something flat (the wife’s granite countertop hehe). As expected, the groove points didn’t line up, so I shimmed with some paper:

    IMG_4978.jpg

Now that I knew the pulley grooves were level to each other, I put the collar into one, and then into another. You can probably see in the pics below how off it is:

    IMG_4981.jpg
    IMG_4980.jpg

I’d say it has to be a 1/16 to 3/32 difference . This would essentially thrust the “new” pulley outward. Perhaps this wouldn’t have a great effect on pulleys that were far apart, but given the close distance between the grooved #1 pulley and the grooved supercharger pulley, this can’t be good, and I’m not surprised if it would throw a belt like this.

Luckily for me, my original pulleys aren’t in bad shape, so they are going back on. I guess I’ll look into buying an original set if I can find them.
