Apologies for any misnomers or inaccuracies, I'm learning as I go, not a mechanic, but intelligent and logical, follow manuals for mission critical operations as part of my job. (Parachute Rigger)

Noticed an accumulation of dirt/oil/fluid on the top of the block, passenger side, near the spark plugs that wasnt there 30k mi ago. Did some research and I *think* its coming from the denso fuel pump, likely the gasket?

I've cleaned the area in an attempt to determine the severity over time, I'm wondering, firstly is this the fuel pump gasket leaking? How much of an issue this is, and how soon does it need to be fixed. Not super keen to disassemble a (mostly) working component, but I have some free time and it looks like its doable.

Thank you for your time and input.

I would clean it...then recheck daily to see where it is coming from...cant tell if thats fuel or oil

Thinking maybe a valve cover gasket leak ? Try cleaning off the area with soap and water . And see if u see any leaks around the area .you can also stick your finger in it and smell it … gas or oil …

Leak is most likely coming from the fuel pump. Clean up and see if you can find the source of the weep. It’s not what I would consider a leak.

So all this aligns with my hypothesis as well as what I'm seeing under the hood, no chirping, just the weep/leak.
This means replacing the gasket I assume, as its the only component that would leak as far as I can tell.
I've cleaned the area, and will continue to monitor it to get an idea of the severity, which brings me to one of my original inquiries, how serious is it and how soon should I get it sorted?
Is it practical to attempt myself? Whats the procedure? I have a pdf of the service manual but it's a behemoth of a file, and none of the "info" links work inside the document.. seems like just disconnecting the lines, removing the two bolts and the old gasket, then reconnecting everything..
I'm not showing any codes, and the engine seems to be performing fine.

FsM calls to remove intake . Also may need to rotate the crank to move the camshaft lobe to a neutral position for easy installation of the pump

It would be interesting to know the service history of the truck.

Sure, replace the gasket under the high pressure pump and clean it up. No big deal

I had my hp pump replaced at like 1000 miles new due to leak. Seems to be leaking again at 15000. They sent me a letter about it being a problem and they'll replace if necessary. Seems like a step before a recall

I do contract work outside phoenix, 75mi commute each way, 150mi/day m-f, it adds up quickly.. Previous owner is personal friend, garage kept, religious about service schedule and all done at the same dealership. I contacted them and got a copy of the records and have continued with a log of my own. She also never drove it offroad, it was definitely a right place right time sort of deal. She ordered a brand new 23 to her spec and I paid her what the dealership offered as trade in value +1k$

This is fantastic news, thank you profusely.

Really impressed with this forum currently.. was anticipating a potential solution in a few weeks, not multiple and same day.

i was asking in addition to his picture in post #1 smart ass.

it’s a legit question when techs spill oil everywhere in the engine bay.
