They rarely come up and when they do they are not much less than a new one, which is usually between $70-$100. Try an internet search with the Toyota OEM part number and see what you get for prices. I ended up buying one for an access cab long bed and one for a double cab short bed and I might still be waiting for one to pop up for sale if I had not bought each of those new.....and that was almost 10 years ago for the DCSB.

Cut it down to size with a utility blade. Heavy, though.

I bought one off eBay from Bamparts for $65.00 (free shipping), they advertise as open box , could include scuff marks etc. I bought it two years ago , it arrived in perfect brand new condition with what only looked like someone had walked across in dusty work boots which came right off with a wet cloth . I was very happy, I just looked them up for you and they have one on there for $80.00 with the option of making an offer and get it shipped right to your house for free .

    Little bit of stuff.
In need of a set of leaf springs. Icon RXT's, Deavers, Allpro's. Currently at 3" lift, to be paired with Fox 12's & relocation kit. My old Allpro's are tired and corroded to hell.

Anyone local to Rhode Island want to swap their 3rd gen double cab Tacoma roof moldings for the OEM roof rack? Rack was installed new on my 2020. Truck is stored outdoors so there is some fading but functions as expected.

I don’t use it because a small amount of 2020 VINS have interference with the roof rack and the shark fin antenna. There is a TSB somewhere on it. Local dealer claims they won’t do the fix without me paying…

Anyway, if someone wants to do the swap let’s figure something out!

First just to get it out of the way - no I am not interested. I have the pre Feb 2020 build as well. :)

I don't know what the TSB would be, the cutout for the antenna was moved forward for the 2020s to help try to mitigate the 3rd brake light leaking issue. Once they realized it interfered with the roof racks, they moved it back to the original spot. That's stamped in your roof sheet metal.

Actually that's a lie - I do know. The TSB is literally just remove the roof rack, plug the holes, and put the guards on.

    Who is your local dealer?

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2020-tacos-with-factory-roof-racks.638069/

If you really want the racks, there ARE options to swap out the antenna.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/replacing-the-shark-fin-antenna-on-gen3s.640271/

Here's the TSB, call the dealer and explain the TSB states that it's a warranty condition, and they need to do the repair.

    https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10179787-9999.pdf

You can also link them to our state AG website, who is VERY proud to show they are taking dealership shenanigans VERY seriously, and aren't afraid to make enemies of the dealerships....

    https://riag.ri.gov/

Sorry you're dealing with this shenanigans. Hope it helps. I ended up with a cali raised roof rack, works fine with the shark fin.

Thanks for the in-depth reply. I use a ladder rack for my needs, so I was going to see if a dealer would perform the TSB work of removing the OEM rack and installing the roof moldings.

I am going to try another dealer as I am between them. If a dealer isn’t competent enough to understand the TSB or is scummy enough to gouge customers, I don’t want to deal with them. I’d prefer the fix be documented in the service history of the truck before I DIY some resolution, but if someone were willing I’d swap as I posted.

I personally prefer the “naked” roof. If the truck didn’t come with the OEM rack I’d probably have never opted for one.
