Orange Virus Tune Looking for New Tune

So I haven't been keeping up with the pulse on tunes. I recently tried to go down to a lower octane tune using my Orange Virus Software only to find out its not supported. Contacted Matthew with Orange Virus Tune and he told me I need to pay a $75 upgrade just to access what I already paid $700 for. Am I wrong for thinking this is a crazy expectation? I have already spent well over $700 for the tunes and I don't plan on sending him any more money just to access what I already paid for. I have the dongle, what are the hands down best tunes and ill just switch over and support someone els. Ill attach our email convo. (Look at times to read in order)

 

There was a free upgrade period, but that ended over a couple years ago.

Unfortunately, the software is useless these days without the upgrade. Sorry!

So best of the best tune for my Taco. Basically I want something that will improve over stock tune that will maintain the longevity of the motor.

That whole lifetime tunes promise fell flat on its ass didn't it.

 

lol a lot of things did not work out the way I thought when I bought into this. I totally understand OPs frustrations. Hope VF or someone can help him out.

I’m not happy to just be learning this either… I haven’t updated or used my VF tuner in years and my computers OS has changed… mines likely useless now too..

 

I didn't know that VF changed either. I'm honestly done with tunes. Have had OV, papparee tunes and overland tune. If I seek more power it will be through a supercharger

 

One of the big reason I gave up on the stuff for years was because of how frustrated I had become with OVtune shenanigans like this. I was warming up to the option of giving another tune a try. Finding out I gotta drop $75 ($102 CDN) on top of the $1000+ I spent years ago using the same computer, truck and Tactrix? Unfuckingbelievable.

 

One last attempt to find reason. We will see if he responds.

Software isn’t like a lifetime warranty hammer. Is more akin to a subscription. It requires constant maintenance and changes constantly. You can’t expect to pay only once.

 

I only want what I paid for. Orange Virus choose software with malware that was trash. Now do to their poor decisions I am out $700 worth of tunes.

I do not want to upgrade, I do not want or need new "features". I simply want to flash and retune to a different octane. Its fairly simple.

"I can't expect to pay only once." I was unaware that having access to the tunes a paid for was a subscription....
