The turbo in my golf TDi only made it to 170k before a deer totaled the entire car.

    Turbos are junk.

I had an 88 supra that was over 200 thousand km and my turbo was fine . Head gasket went but the turbo was still good lol . Those engines were known for head gaskets going though

The implication was that after 40 years turbos would be all figured out and reliability wasn't an issue.

OK now that you mention it, I swear this happened to me too.

I had the screens set a certain way, and I went back and I flipped through the screens and I noticed that the trip odometer showed up randomly over the tire gauge. I couldn't figure out why. I was like why the hell would I have put trip B on the screen? I don't ever use trip B. And it was the tire pressure gauge the I had set up.

Now maybe I accidentally changed it, but I can't figure out why I would've done that.

As long as you stay on top of the OIL changes at 20%, there shouldn't be a problem either.

Shit, these modern diesels? Yea waaaay more complicated than the little 4 pot we got in our 4th gens. Now the old VW Pumpe Duse engines, yea they were stupid simple.

I'm glad Toyota doesn't do oil life "monitors". They have been a horrible fail, yes I'm looking at you GM and your 2.4 Ecotec :boink:

So following up....Since I last replied to you I have added about 8 trips over 200 miles and let the truck sit for 2 day. Tire pressure still shows up when I start it. Something to note is I have it on screen 3 and I have a July build date.

PDI'd and drove the trail hunter.

Havent really been following 4th gen as closely, the prices really made me disinterested. But the trail hunter really surprised me for features. I'm sure the price is silly.

It's way more comfy than the pro, does quite well on the rough road we have, just needs better tires ASAP.

The long box, proper seats and the COOL ASS INTAKE make me want it.

The turbo choochoo noises were halarious. If the passenger window is down at all, its all you hear.
