Has anyone gotten the GS HD springs?
I'm trying to get an idea of what their weight capacity is before they begin to sag and their overall spring rate and comfort with a ~220lb static load in the bed.

I called general spring but they said they they don't have any of that information for them which struck me as odd..

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I have heard good things about General Spring but couldn't tell you a thing about them. They don't appear to be much more than a stock spring pack with more of a curve to add the claimed height...which will likely settle to near stock.

I don't think I need to tell you that the stock springs don't like added static weight.

I know the price looks right, but it may not get you where you want or need to get to.

If you're not looking at heavy off road duty and just support that approx. 220#, maybe an Add-A-Leaf would help you.

I have progressive AAL which I just installed the other day, although they fixed the immediate sag, they're more prone to sag as weight increases due to the overall decrease of spring weight?

There's the 2" .medium duty dakars but I've read those sag very quickly with little load in the bed.

I had posted the same question a while back. Apparently it gives about 1.5" of lift but that's all the info I had gotten. Never got around to installing. On the 2nd gen forums, they have more info. One guy added a camper shell and said it dropped maybe 1/4". Good info here

Hmm I wonder if it's the same leaf pack as the TRD pro, or are the pros a spacer lift?

No they're definitely a different spring. Pro is the same leaf as an off road but with a .5" spacer.

I found the AAL to be a band-aid, but my springs had already been pretty well used up. I've had a fiberglass cap on the truck since day one. Adding skids, sliders added more weight and showed how bad my springs had gotten.

I have also read that the Dakars sag some. No experience personally, I went with Ironman. All leafs will settle some. What's important is that they support the weight with a ride that's not too stiff.

Iron mans look solid although they tend to give 3" + of lift which means I'd have to redo the suspension setup I just bought.

Contact Alcan and they will build you a spring pack for the weight you run + lift size you want.

This is the best answer, though it might be more expensive than your original plan

Their medium duty (0-440#) claim a 2" lift, they will settle about 1/2". I have the heavy duty springs, their website claims 2" lift, but initial installed height was a bit more than that, maybe close to 3". With my weight, they settled a little more than 1/2". My truck weighs about 5800#. They are noticeably firmer than stock, but not harsh.

What suspension setup did you just buy...that would be nice to know when you started the discussion.

    Here's how I'm sitting now:

Wow small world. I just installed Dayton 90-297HD that I sourced from a spring shop locally. My stock sport leafs were beyond flat and I would hit my sumo springs with just a cooler loaded in the bed. The new springs are heavier than the ones I took out. I wish I had a scale to weight them. But they still are the 3+1 leafs and I gained 1.5” but expect that to drop some with time. I was nervous for a rough unloaded ride but its actually better now that I’m not contacting bump stop on every little hit. And my new bilsteins seem to be happy aswell. Stock front height. Planning on fiberglass cap in 2025. Update: just moved an ATV 20miles loaded in the bed. Still wasn’t resting on sumo springs in the driveway. And I don’t thing I contacted during the trek either
