Have a Prerunner V6. What brake pads you use in front. Right now i just have generic ceramic auto parts brand but was thinking replacing them with Bosch pads.
Seems like the auto parts pads do not last that long.

Many times I noticed parts that are Autozone Gold are actually a name brand but AutoZone has put their stupid Gold duralast brand on it.
Anyone know what the real brand is.

Was also looking on RockAuto, no lifetime warranty but they do sell Bosch brake pads.

Bosch is a brand not a pad. They probably have semi metallic which by definition doesn’t last as long as a popular ceramic like genuine TRD pads. They’re easy to change.

OE. Depending how you are on the brakes should get 60-90k out of a set.

When I changed mine I used akebono pads and advics rotors. When I opened the box for the rotors I surprised to see a sticker on the plastic bag that said, "Certified High Carbon".

I went with Wagner Thermo-quiets the last time I did the front brakes on the Taco. They have a good constant cold "bite" and don't ever seem to fade, but they are a bit dusty.

The factory front brakes are undersized and warp prone.

If you put pads on it, you have undersized warp prone brakes.

That is why there is a 24 page 4runner brake upgrade thread from 2017.
and a 66 page stoptech TRD thread from 2017.

Akabono makes good brake pads and rotors, they have both normal usage and performance versions.

Does these fit a Taco too? Assuming the 4Runner and Taco use same spindle, calipers etc ?

I think I remember trading brake pads to customers that brought in their old pads when I worked at Autozone.

There are shops offering lifetime warranty on pads, which covers just the part cost. Of course it's just a business model to get customers coming back for repeated upsells.

Nothing wrong with them if you drive normal. I've had them on several vehicles over the last 15 years.

I got akebonos about 10K ago. They improved braking dramatically from OEM. Not sure on durability yet, but I imagine bueno since Lexus OEM.
