Help identifying what these are…

I was investigating adding a light bar to my bumper, and when I pulled the blank buttons left of my 2008 steering wheel. I found these cables not connected to anything. What do they go to?

 

They go no where.
Typically they re-use the same wiring harness for vehicles with all the features.
From what I was told if you don’t have them they aren’t even plugged in.

Although…. If we know where the other end is…

 

On my 07 Offroad those are traction control/downhill assist control/roll side curtain airbags

This is a big help identifying the plugs. If these go to the DAC and RSCA, do you know where they terminate on the other end of the switch?

 

Interesting. my 2008 TRD offroad doesn't have TC/DAC/RSC at all.

 

As far as I’ve read.
You don’t need TC as you have a locker.
DAC and RSCA is I believe on 2.5 gen models.

We don’t even have side curtain airbags to turn off.

 

You can use the dash illumination wire for added aftermarket switches. (DAC)

Thanks, I need to sit and think through this more. I know there is plenty on the forums about adding light bars. So I need to spend some time planning really how to go about this.

 

Nothing complicated about that. Fused ignition source to relay coil in engine bay fuse/relay box. other side of relay coil to cab panel switch, switch to ground.

 

2009-2010 had optional side curtain airbags.
2011 it became standard.
2012-2015 is 2.5 gen.

DAC however... I don't know the specifics on that for each model year/trim.

 

Another easy option is purchase the missing switch, de-pin slot 3 on vehicle switch connector and insert wire and crimped terminal from added relay coil wire to it.

Side airbags were optional 05-08 and standard 09+

DAC I believe is exclusive to 09+ TRD OffRoad models with an automatic trans and 05-08 models with the very rare (prior to 09) VSC option.

Yep... my 07 Offroad came with VSC, TRAC, HAC, and DAC. That package was under optional equipment as were the seat/side curtain airbags. I always thought it seemed kinda rare as the majority of the 05-08 Offroads i've seen on here came with a blank switch or two.

 

All 3 switch slots on 08 TRD Offroad are blanks. I also don’t have Side Curtain Airbags so the RSCA is unnecessary. But I would have thought the TRD-OR would have come with DAC or the VAC. I guess even in the trim packages their are sub categories.
