    Hi,
I'm 6 days into my 2010 Tacoma and I'm very happy to have it. The previous owner did a lot of work but he did forget to attach the Engine Skid plate. He said that the hardware was too rusted to use. The skid plate itself is in descent condition. That all said - there's no hardware. Could someone point me to a link or document where I can ascertain exactly which hardware I require to put it back into place? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thomas

So, the hardware arrived today. And I will replace it soon, however, I see that some fellows have painted there skid plates. I believe I'm going to do the same thing -- so before I try out the hard ware, I'll probably take the rust off and paint it black...Or perhaps another color :)!

I refurbed mine with Rustoleum spray and four new OEM bolts, 14ftlbs.

That's what I was going to do Rustoleum as well. However, I think i'm going to wire brush off the rust first and then replace it onto the truck. I was inspired by a few of our fellow members of the forum who have painted the skid plate with other colors and even a TRX decal (not valid in my point cause I don't have a TRX). I'm looking forward to it. Many thanks, Thomas

Excellent. Yes, I wirebrushed the rust spots beforehand, brake cleaner, then sprayed it Rustoleum textured black. I have no interest in colored skid, just a tough coat, as i dont want to worry about scrapes and such. Go for it though.

Put some grease or anti seize on those bolts before you install the skid plates.
