Holy shit, ouch!! Is it expected to make a recovery with no further intervention?

Nothing too exciting going on over here, though I did go to my first drift event this weekend. My brother has this drift car and absolutely whips it, which is incredible considering it’s a mostly stock ‘95 bmw. Gutted to hell, suspension, whatever it’s called to make it turn extra tight, hydro brake, and a welded diff and it rips.

I believe so, unless it ends up getting infected. They have me on oral antibiotics to try to prevent that though. Just really freaking sore!

Bro, it has been a rough go round here lately. A few weeks ago I was cleaning up the basement family room a little bit before putting the kiddos to bed and found wet carpet. Turns out my main water line split right at the foundation and had been leaking for at least six or 8 weeks (based on careful scrutinization of my water bills) before water started coming into the house. Luckily I was able to fix it myself. It was a ton of labor, but saved me thousands of dollars!

Wow, killer work. We had leaks galore at our new house but luckily mostly outside, and I was able to track them down. Toilet flapper, irrigation valve, crack in the pool, leaky irrigation line, etc. Our first month here we used 17,000 gallons of water! Now we’re down to about 200 gallons a day which is average for a house of our size.

Nice! You guys are very frugal water users!

In July we used 90k gallons, August we used 110k gallons, and in the first 10 days of September we had used 50k gallons already when I called the city to have them come shut off the water! Gotta love $300 water bills! (We normally average between 40-50k gallons a month during the summer because of landscape irrigation)

The city will do a one time leak forgiveness program. We are on tiered rates here to encourage conservation. The more water you use, the more expensive each gallon gets. They will make an adjustment, but you still pay for every gallon you used/lost, just at the base rate. Which would have made my $300 bills around $225. My biggest worry is I had several 100k gallons of water go right against my house/foundation...

'High angle steering kit' is what it's called. My wife is getting into drifting so we took our tax return from last year and bought her a 350z project we've been working on getting street legal again (salvage title). It gets inspected next week I believe. Hopefully it passes without any issues. She's also learning Manual at the same time so it's a long road to drifting lol
The car was wrecked in the front and rear on the passenger side so there's some fitment issues and the alignment is wonky. We had to completely reinstall the ebrake from the handle back, as the previous owner decided to delete the whole system..... Then I bought her a new big brake kit for the rear and some other bits and bobs to get it somewhat back together for her birthday/our anniversary (it was expensive lol). It already had the high angle kit installed and she got some used suspension off marketplace and I pulled some bumper supports in the junkyard and she got a used rear bumper cover. It's 3 different colors but it doesn't look quite as bad now lol

That's sick! There were loads of Z's at the event, probably 1/3 of the cars there. I asked my bro why and he said decent power, manual trans, a lot available and RWD. Makes a lot of sense and I imagine there's a huge aftermarket for them too, like the tacomas of the drift world.

Just know if you decide to buy an old Z car, they are nearly impossible to get parts for without spending beaucoup bucks at Z1 Motorsports or trying to source things that might be the same as a Maxima/Altima.

    This one?

It has healed really nicely! Still a little sore due to the damage to the bone, but the flesh wound is gone!

    Can barely tell now!
I scratched my leg about 2 weeks ago and the top layer of skin came off. It's still healing.... I'm 33, it shouldn't take this long to heal!!

Came here to check out your custom front bumper again, but learned you sold her! Then got drawn into reading what's transpired since then. Congrats on the house and baby #2! Sorry to hear about Tony. Our dogs are our family members and it's always rough sending them on.

Sometimes I wish I had a pool at my house for exercise and someplace to practice shooting my speargun.

Wow, thanks for sticking around and doing some reading! Here’s a thread dedicated to the bumper with more pics.
