You won't need to cut the snout for a 2.8.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
The problematic key word in your statement is "plan".... I would venture to say that many if not most of the people who planned to stay on a 2.8 never did, and the cost to get another size smaller is cheap and easy. Removing a pulley is hard. I think removing a hub is even more difficult. So when you have the pulley off, do yourself a favor and cut the snout so that you future proof yourself or the next person... The path in front of you is paved... don't take the hard way just to end up at the same place...

I second this. When this thread first started early on, guys had a little fun with me because I vowed to stay conservative with my build. That didn’t happen but I produced a mighty nice build (which I miss dearly). But as far as the pulley, I had the same plan and ended up going to a 2.7. However, the pulley wrap mod I had became too risky for my liking so I ended up removing it and going back to a 2.8 in the process. To me the difference wasn’t too noticeable and a 2.8 was the better way to go.

I agree 1000% with this sentiment, but I'm tired most days so I don't always have the energy to break it down like you did for people who want to do it the long way. Lol.

For us California guys looking to keep the 2.85 stealth pulley for smog reasons, is there another pulley we can change to create more boost? On my Supercharged G35 and s2000s, people would sometimes change the crank pulley.

URD does make a 2.7 stealth pulley and a 2.55 stealth pulley still. NST used to make a overdrive pulley, but I don't think they make it any more.

Thanks for the offer. I already have a 2.7 installed. The paint is melting off of it, so it looks like crap. lol!

That one requires the snout to be shaved down?

    I marked you down!

These ones will be slightly smaller diameter because there were issues with these fitting after market idlers.
