I bought the OTP7 Redline Parlux tailgate light bar, which are supposed to be compatible with Tacoma 2005-2023.

Followed the instructions in the video install, but my stock OEM 7 Pin Trailer plug doesn't just pop out like in the instructions.

    PXL_20250106_211717060.MP.jpg

Looked into it, and it seems to only disassemble in this manner (link), which doesn't help as far as the light bar go.

Do I need an additional adapter (since their 7-4 pin adapter that came in the order won't fit)? Or will hardwiring into the wires themselves have to be the last option?

I'd guess the 2nd and 3rd Gen wiring are different, have you asked OPT7 since they are the one saying it's plug and play?

I had to cut my OEM hitch harness and buy a 3rd gen aftermarket plug in order for the Diode Dynamics hitch light to be plug and play on my 2nd gen.

I'm also considering cutting into the wires myself as well.

    I did it!
Unexpectedly, I found an adapter that their website happen to show me an ad for a 7-Way Round to 4-Way Flat Pin Adapter that seemed to help plenty.
Apparently, I have a 7-way flat pins, I believe, instead of the common 7-pin found in 3rd Gens Tacomas.

Here is a video of the functioning light bar.

Now I just need to find a way to hard wire the reverse light (for the white reversing light, which is the main reason I bought it for).

    Will update.

Lol, looking at it now, the 7 flat pin adapter isn't as obvious until it suddenly IS... But it still works, so perfect either ways!
