i used a omp 2 blade quick release and welded it to the steering shaft.... granted thats more "race truck" oriented than im sure your looking for. i mean the prp at $45 really cant be beat.

I'll be using a quick release. Mocked up the new PRP seats today and quickly remembered why I had to use a quick release in my track car. The thigh bolsters make it nearly impossible to get in and out without either removing the steering wheel, or pulling a muscle. Probably still go with hub adapter though in case I ever want to change out the quick release. Don't want to be locked into one.

I have a quick release in mine and found that just going to a smaller wheel from PRP was more than sufficient. But with the factory wheel it’s definitely tight lol

Yeah, factory wheel is 15". I was going to keep it originally because about two years ago I added some thumb rests to the stock wheel and re-wrapped it with leather from redline. Totally changed the wheel and I love it, but it's still large. Ordered a 13" PRP last night with the flat bottom. If that ends up being enough, I can always ditch the quick release.

On the topic, for anyone keeping the stock wheel/airbag, but wanting more from the wheel, redlinegoods.com. all kinds of custom leather options. Full grain, suede, alcantara, etc. choose the thumb rest option. They send 3d printed rests that you epoxy to the bare wheel before stitching the new leather on. Sewing the new cover on is laborious, but well worth it.

Guys it fuckin happened. I rolled my 3rd gen… time for the rebuild. First step is a new cab. I don’t know any of you really, has anyone ever gone through the process of swapping a cab and rewiring it and willing to help me. I can get the new cab mounted onto my frame a trailer the truck up to wherever the person is. I can only find cabs with bare metal no wiring left inside. So I’ll have swap over all my wiring into the new cab. Not sure how hard of a process that is but I’m willing to get it done and however long it takes. The truck still runs and drives straight! I did not have a roll cage in place so atleast that makes it easier to swap over the cab just 4 bolts and cut some wires and I can swap it with a skid loader. Once that’s done and wired up I can lock in the frame with the roll cage sitting at my house. Frames kinked in the rear but nothing a frame shop couldn’t handle, already talked to a few willing to take it on.

    Yes
Don’t cut any wires, every wire has a plug on it so follow it until you find where to unplug it. Take photos and draw diagrams. It’s honestly not complicated, unplug everything label every plug with tape , write on the ecu / label etc it’s really just a big plug n play project

Well! We’re back in business. Trans is totally fine. Hood pins are in, just need to get a new piece of glass and an exhaust put back on it.

Unfortunately nobody wanted to touch it since it wasn’t driving. But once the glass is fixed and exhaust on, it’s going back on the market.
